if thats the case then i'm going to buy the anniversary edition, when i'm able to
Every update breaks any mod that relies in SKSE or ,dll files. The game version updates, and when the fame version and the SKSE version don't match, nothing activates.
However, the AE update was not so simple, Bethesda changed more than just the game version, they changed the compiler from the 2015 version to the 2019 version and it basically required a complete re-write of SKSE and some mods, so things were broken for quite awhile. Not every mod works, but it's only the ones that have not been updated, likely from the modder no longer being active. There is often an alternative to older mods.
Buying the anniversary edition dlc upgrade won't affect the mods of your game or be a factor in them working or not.
That means even If you don't buy the anniversary edition upgrade and just download the game Your game version would be 1..6.1170 so you have to download the most recent patched and updated mods
I'm personally using the 1.6.1170 version of the gane with a 800+ modlist , found everything that I needed but sometimes I had to replace some preferred mods with the ones that do the same thing but work on the latest game version , or even have download an update patch for those mods as a separate mod
It might be a hassle sometimes but ultimately You can make it work .
An alternative solution for this is to downgrade Your game to a previous version , then Use a SKSE pluging mod called BEES so You could have the best of both worlds , I would've done this at the beginning if I knew about it but now I'm too lazy to start over.
Yes. This is the version you want. It is the equivalent of all inclusive GOTY editions with other games, just titled differently as Anniversary do to its age.
When you install it, you will also have the NG (Next Gen) update. This is where your headaches with mods really will lie, once you start exploring other unofficial mods. Don't worry about that until you are ready to branch out. Enjoy the AE edition for what it is, which is amazing. lol
If you want maximum enjoyment from the game, I suggest only adding non CC mods when youre either bored with the game or simply find something uncomfortable you really want to change.
My first discomforts were camera distance and over the shoulder camera. I need the camera pulled out much further and centered, or I feel like my view is blocked, which becomes a little uncomfortable to my psyche. Point is, you can customize this game to your liking. Just don't be in a rush and you'll enjoy the game much longer. The obvious first mod to install should be the "unofficial update" community patch, which you very much want once you decide to stop playing only the vanilla game. The second might be SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender) depending on your chosen mods. It gets complicated fast, so don't worry if youre already lost or become lost in all this. :)
All Bethesda games are buggy and much buggier at release. This is where the comment your concerned with came from. With the last big NG update with Fallout 4 and Skyrim, Bethesda rebroke all the mods, to include many of their own from CC this time. This always happens in the modding community every time Beth updates the game executable with a new version.
Its all been "fixed" enough now in Beth's efforts to modernize the games across platforms (smh). The included CC (Creation Club) content with Skyrim AE was tested by Bethesda to work properly (supposedly) and not count against being able to gain achievements. Any other sold version of Skyrim you find out there will not include the CC content and there is a lot of CC content. Once you start adding non CC mods, you have to pay attention to compatibility info, date of last updates for that mod and the version # of your Skyrim game. There was a split in the modding community and many many many veteran players and modders would not transition to the NG version of Skyrim because to many of the older and popular mods we were using simply haven't been updated to NG or won't ever be, do the the Authors moving on.
I chose to roll back my both games and configured them to not be updatable to NG or later versions until I want them updated.
Not sure what you have to pay for Steam games in Cyprus, but the historical low for Skyrim SE (with AE DLC bundled) has been $12.50 USD. Insanely cheap for so much content. $15-$20 USD is a common sale price, so just wait a month or two if it's not on sale when you have the $.
