So soon we forget
It's been several years since I played Skyrim, and I don't remember having this much difficulty. Yes, I've got the Special Edition (as well as the original.) Crones' Coven (or whatever it is) sounded interesting, so I modded up and started a new game. I looted everything I could in Helgen, to the point of overload. So then I went into the Riverwood Trader, only to find that while I could buy stuff, there was no apparent way to sell anything. Do I have to go get that %#!%&!! Dragonstone before he'll buy anything from me? Help! Thank you.

Check the bottom of the screen where it lists out the button inputs and what they do. Its possible that the modpack included a UI overhaul, and there is a button to toggle from the merchants inventory for buying, to your inventory for selling.

Thank you, Hawklaser, I'll give it a try.

depends if "looting" means "stealing" - you can't fence stolen goods w/o cheating early game, til you join the thieves guild and learn some fencers to sell to.

if we *are* talking about stolen goods, and you don't care about a little nudge of intimidation to the NPC vendors, it's just two commands:

'player.setav bypassvendorstolencheck 1'
'player.setav bypassvendorkeywordcheck 1'

now you can sell any item, stolen or not, or on their "buyable" list of wanted items or not, for every vendor.
