-Werewolf build
-Illusion assassin
-Fisticuffs (literally just punch your way through the game!)
-Mage only...it's tricky in the base game, easier with mods.
You want to do light armor and two hand? It's a great build, i've done it several times. Yes, you are "limited" because you can't cast spells in a fight...part of the fun is trying to find ways around that. Here are some tips i'd recommend for light armor with two-hand weapons:
-Use alteration and the "flesh" spells for magic armor BEFORE you start a fight, then you can run in fighting and take more hits.
-Alchemy...potions...after awhile you can make better health potions then you can buy. If you're interested in some "performance enhancing drugs" it's quite easy to make Fortify Two-Hand potions for added damage when fighting.
-Become Etheral is a dragon shout. I'd recommend finding it. What i like to do is shout, then be etheral which means you can't take damage, which allows you to get nice and close to say the Bandit Chieftan (or whoever the biggest dude in the area is...mages are a good target too) then do a massive power attack on them and hopefully you can kill them quickly before they kill you.
-There are two weapons in the game (two-hand weapons) which are enchanted and are arguably the two best two-hand weapons in the game...now, i'm not going to tell you which they are so you have try and make the light armor two hand build your own (even though i've given you probably too much info already in the above).
-White River Watch. It's right off of Whiterun, there is a dude inside with gauntlets enchanted with "fortify two hand" SUPER easy to get early in the game.
For example, my current play is centered around Uther. His father was an imperial and his mother a nord. His father was killed in Political infighting and his mother sent him to relatives in Whiterun (Uthgerd the Unbroken is her cousin).
So as an apprentice warrior he usually uses 1H and Shield. With a 2handed sword as backup. Heavy Armor with Restoration magic. 2h Bow. He will use support Destruction (Runes) and flames (for setting of oil traps and such but no direct combat destruction, Conjuration or Illusion.
I also use an experience inhibitor mod witch reduces his exp gain to 10% of normal which keeps him low level Longer. His deal is learning how to fight, so he can avenge his father.
Another Example is Shine a Breton Dibellian Monk. She came to Skyrim as a Messenger of her order. Evidently their Link to the Goddess was told to tell the Markarth Sisters to GET THEIR SYBILL and to stop bothering Dibella. She told them all they need to know. Shine's sticking around because nothing is going on in High Rock.
She uses Alteration Mod to utilize H2H (once she gets up past 30 skill). Until then she wields a 2h battlestaff (Immersive Weapons). She uses Alteration (for Oak,Stone, etc Spells), Restoration (to heal others and self). Destruction (Both Combat and Support). She might use Illusion (pacify and stealth) but usually doesn't. Conjuration is not needed, she won't soul trap or summon or raise.
She also has entertainment mods, Singing and Dancing (Exotic, not Erotic). She is more about helping people with their problems.
Those are just two examples of how the character tells you what their build is. Good knowledge of available mods will help you create a character to play.
For your light armor 2H build try alchemy as an alternative source of healing. That's something you can use with a 2H without having to switch out.
As for an alternative build I suggest substituting magic.
Alteration spells can give you around 300 armor which isn't terrible and it means you have no carry weight problem. While not as strong as light armor it's still doable.
Typically I find having to cast a spell for armor to be tiresome. So I typically use heavy armor and combine it with spells.
For a two heander player, why not use bound battleaxe? This way you could sling some spells and switch to your battleaxe to finish them off. I like the idea of a more mastermind type player. Someone who puts down runes on the ground, maybe summons a helper, and then summons their battleaxe to fight off the hordes of baddies.
I also suggest illusion and daggers. Go for stealth kills, but calm absolutely wrecks baddies as you can calm them down...pickpocket them to increase that skill, and then get an easy backstab. It's also fun casting frenzy and watching the bad guys kill their own.
