I guess the intent of the mod author was to highlight a not everything can be saved type story. There was alot of corruption going on in within the area after all.
The mod author said as much, though I'm not sure where I saw that. It is a pity that it turns out as such a tragedy. For all the work the mod author went through to make it and it doesn't make you want to replay it again.
However once the Beyond Reach has reached it's finale it's over.
Which is really sad, as the world he created would be great to play around in. Perhaps finding where to stop the story progress so you don't complete and end the story?
Some things simply cannot be salvaged.
Unfortunately, the mod is essentially unfinished and probably will forever be so. Like, it ends, but it was way earlier than what was planned. Going out of bounds shows there's a lot of unfinished stuff. multiple town, fort and dungeon layouts scattered throughout the unplayable areas that clearly were meant to play a part and be able to be visited at some point, but are just left in a state of incomplete limbo. Some of the dungeons can even be entered and have a basic layout to them, but are clearly unfinished and can be quite a glitchy mess (had a dragon spawn in one, that could fly through terrain - scared the ♥♥♥♥ out of me).
