It's probably not more than 2 and a dlc or something, but I can't say I remember if for example something existed on a PS4/5 as special edition or if you needed the dlc here, which seems to have bad reviews.
Can't say I care much for mods since I don't want to accidently ruin my game and have barely an idea on how that actually works so far.

Still I just want to know what i would have to buy if i want a good exerience. since I have no idea if the offer with Legendary edition is now a "mod collection edition" or actually extra missions or a part of the world that's locked off.

I read a review that sounded like it's just little stuff I would most likely end up not caring for.

Terms are a bit of a mess there.

  • Legendary Edition: Original 32bit game with all original DLCs (Dawnguard, Hearthfire, Dragonborn)
  • Special Edition: This 64bit game, where all original DLCs come as part of the main game. Few CCs (Fishing, Survival mode, Saints and Seducers and Rare Curious) are now also added in to main game.
  • Anniversary Edition: bundle DLC of previously released Creation Club content. Not usually needed for modding, but might has support files among popular mods.

What were you exactly asking?

I guess which version I should buy if I want to get the most out of it, sounds like that would be the special Edition then.

There was a time I heard bad stuff about it, for some reason I remember it as a problematic game, if you want I would like to read your opinion on that too, I just want to figure out if I add this to my purchase. Sorry if this sounds weird today, I tried a bit to get it more concentrated on what I meant or as far as I remember the situation

Special Edition got some notoriety over Creation Club updates. Those updated usually didn't directly add content to game, but CC is tied to executable. This caused some hassle, because SKSE and mods relying on hard checks with it had to update as well.

It has been very slow on this front and we know how to protect the game. Still, there are always people who didn't do so and come out ranting, when update forces them to wait the whooping 1 day or two for xSE and Address Library to catch up.
There are three versions. LE, SE/AE and the switch version.

The various consoles all use essentially the same version as the pc, with a few tweeks to get it working on the console. However I have been told the switch version is a hybrid between the LE and SE versions, probably because the switch isn't powerful enough for the ful SE version.

If the AE CC contents are annoying then i advise downgrading to SE.

there are multible methods. Also make sure to keep "_ResourcePack.ESL" before downgrading, this thing is really useful.

The Legendary Edition it is a name to refer to the 2011 release version and also the name refers to the game with the DLCs Dawnguard Hearthfire and Dragonborn. The 2011 release version it is the standard version of the game it has Steam Trading Cards and Steam Achievements and Steam Workshop it is the only version of Skyrim that has Steam Trading Cards and Steam Workshop and the 2011 release does not come with the DLCs they must be bought seperatly. And the 2011 release no longer shows in Steam Search you will need a link to get to the store page on Steam of Skyrim's 2011 release where it can still be bought. The next edition is Skyrim Special Edition it comes bundled with the DLCs Hearthfire Dawnguard and Dragonborn and the Special Edition it has upgraded graphics for Skyrim and the Special Edition includes Steam Achievements but it does not have Steam Trading Cards and this version it is the most popular and has the most active modding for Skyrim and it has a DLC called Anniversary Edition it adds new quests new armours new locations new weapons and new features to the game. Anniversary Edition is only available for the Special Edition and it released in 2021 for Skyrim's 10 anniversary and there is another version of Skyrim called Skyrim VR it is VR only it has Steam Achievements but no trading cards.:cozyskyrimvr:
