you should play skyrim without mods first you can play with the anniversary version because those mods are pretty vanilla imo but you gotta experience this game vanilla fresh first before modding? Practically every dungeon is unique in its own way a lot of dungeons have their own "lore" of whats going on

for example you wander in a cave and find a book that tells of two brothers that wanna mine this cave and he needs to take a trip back to town but when he returns his brother is no longer their he thought he ditched him so he left and returned home until you discover another path in the cave which leads to a cave in with a skeleton buried thats when you realize the brother didnt leave him he died

Its little things like that makes the world of skyrim unique theres so many stories it makes wanna enjoy exploring not just checking off a list to complete a area

This is a crass generalization, but as you advance from the earlier Elder Scroll games to the latter
- the graphics tend to get better
- the gameplay tends to get dumber

You mention that you "like how it looks", so Skyrim might be the most suitable entry point for you.

Disclaimer - I have no idea what the recently-released Oblivion remaster is like, or how it fits into this pattern.

I dont really read ingame books but after this one I’ll consider it. Thanks. What about magic mechanics? Id love to try playing as a sorcerer or wizard or whatever. Is it cool in skyrim?

Here's my opinion on this:

As far as graphics is concerned, Skyrim is the best.

But compared to earlier games,

- Skyrim has less charming strangeness, originality, and creativity (Morrowind took me to a different world, Skyrim just took me north).

- Skyrim gives less opportunity for character customization (fewer attributes, fewer types of equipment like armor or weapons, no spell crafting).

- Skyrim often ignores player choice. Dialog option 1 ("Tell me more about this") leads to the start of a new quest. Dialog option 2 ("I don't have time to do this") leads to a reply of "Well, here's what you need to do should you change your mind later" and the exact same start of the exact same quest. Your words don't matter much.

- it is too easy to rise to a high social status (like a Thane of of the Holds, or the head of a faction), and attaining such status makes little difference in NPS behaviour. Your actions don't matter much.

Try to talk to one npc at a time. If that NPC gives you a quest. Do not talk to other NPC. Complete that quest first before you talk to other npc. You can click on the quest and it will show you the direction of the quest. You can check the map and see where the quest wants you to go.

If you do this, you will not be overwhelmed by numerous quests.

You asked what would be the best game to start with. I'm not telling you to start with any of them if you don't like them.

I was just pointing out what I think of as the strengths and weaknesses of the Elder Scrolls games, hopefully allowing you to decide which of them, if any, you want to play.

Out of the "recent" 3 TES games, Morrowind had the best writing, worldbuilding and overall design. That's where bethesda peaked as a game dev in an artistic sense. However, it was released 23 years ago, and many parts of it didn't age well. The combat system in particular is quite awkward. Still, it is what established the Elder Scrolls franchise, and is the benchmark for all the subsequent games. It also established the TES modding community as a whole, which still produces mods for it.

The next one, Oblivion, was where bethesda established themselves as a company, and made the TES franchise well-known. The game was certainly a big step forward in a technical sense, but it wasn't that great from a worldbuilding standpoint. In fact, many consider it to be quite bland. It's like the devs collected two dozen fantasy novels, boiled them down to extract the lowest common denominator, and used that residue for the setting. The modding community broadened with this game, producing many mods of varying quality, although it was abandoned relatively quickly in favor of Skyrim.

Now, Skyrim was quite the gamechanger. It's where bethesda peaked commercially, but the game itself was dumbed down significantly. It became a bit of everything, part RPG, part shooter, part action-game. What made it truly great, however, was the modding community. Skyrim became a mod sandbox, with countless mods satisfying just about every fantasy. Or degeneracy. You can modify the game to your liking, so the vanilla base is now of little relevancy.

What game to best to start out with? This depends on what you consider to be the most important part of a RPG. Worldbuilding and writing? Then start with Morrowind. Heroic fantasy? Oblivion. Fast-paced action, or the greatest modding potential? Skyrim.

I would advise to start with Morrowind, just to get a sense of the franchise's roots, so to say, and then continue with Skyrim. Oblivion can be skipped, at least until the remaster works properly.

Only 2 questions.
1 I saw morrowind is a SQUARE game. I would love to play it on my qhd screen. Is it possible without getting a pixelated image?
2 any porn mods for skyrim?

There's a graphics extender plugin avaiable:

OOOH, boy, are you in for a ride. There are several porn mods, enough to satisfy any and all kinds of fetishes, and then some more.

Currently, you have the choice between a more modern and socially accepted "adult" framework with many submods:

Or search for the lover's lab website...

Erm.... that is a weird way of putting it, and is not ok... please never use that phrase ever again.... EVER....
and i never played oblivion or skyrim or any elder scrolls because fortnite (stereotypes). But i absolutely like how it looks. What would be the best game to start with? Is skyrim with mods better than any fame in this world?
Difficult to say, obvious one would be the Oblivion remaster.... if it works properly... if...
Next one to suggest would be Skyrim SE... if you can get it to work properlyb because there are a lot of threads that suggest it isn't necessarily easy to get it working these days.
Next would be either Elder Scrolls online or Morrowind, if you have friends that will play alongside you ESO is probably the best bet, otherwise Morrowind.

If you do Daggerfall or Arena look into remakes like Daggerfall:Unity

AVOID games made for mobile phones like TES:The Blades or TES:Castles... in fact as a general rule in life avoid games made for mobile from an already established series, they tend to be nasty attempts to make money.

For modding SSE, you might find it helpful to read this - it has links to everything you need to get a modded game up and running:

Advice to New Players Regarding Modding the Game
https://steamcommunity.com/app/489830/discussions/0/3780246026239478835/

Link is in the For Those New to Modding the Game section of the following
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2882241414
from the PINNED TOPIC Helpful Links and References

And there are no more issues now than there ever were when it comes to modding SSE (or even original Skyrim, for that matter), nor are there more threads than there were in the past about the difficulty concerning modding Skyrim. Just take your time and read the pinned topics and associated thread (such as the topic I linked) and you'll be fine.

I would say start with The Elder Scrolls: Arena, its is the first game in The Elder Scrolls series and I think it would be good to start the series because in the beginning of the game it gives some background information to the world of The Elder Scrolls and Tamriel and the game is for free on Steam then I would say you can then play whichever game in The Elder Scrolls series you want next the main games after The Elder Scrolls: Arena in order is The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall it is also for free on Steam and takes place a few years after The Elder Scrolls: Arena and it takes place in Hammerfell and High Rock. The next game is The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind it takes place in Vvardenfell in Morrowind and also Solstheim with Bloodmoon DLC and Mournhold with Tribunal DLC and is set a few years after The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall and it introduced two new playable races Orcs and Imperials and Orcs appeared before in The Elder Scrolls: Arena and The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall but were unplayable and has two DLCs which I mentioned before Bloodmoon and Tribunal DLCs and some smaller DLCs like one that adds a new island to the game and the Bloodmoon DLC adds the ability to play as a werewolf. The next game is The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion it takes place in Cyrodiil and also Shivering Isles with Shivering Isles DLC and the plot of the game is that Mehrunes Dagon is trying to invade Tamriel and it takes place a few years after The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and it has 2 DLCs Shivering Isles and Knights Of The Nine, Shivering Isles lets you explore a new island in one of the realms of Oblivion and Knights Of The NIne adds a new faction and quest line. The next game is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim it takes place 200 years after Oblivion and takes place in Skyrim and also Solstheim with the Dragonborn DLC the plot of the game is that dragons are returning to Tamriel after years of there not being many on Tamriel and it has 3 DLCs Dragonborn it lets you explore Solstheim with a new quest line and new side quests and Dawnguard DLC it adds a vampire hunters faction and expands the vampires in the game and Hearthfire DLC it lets you build houses in the game. And the next game is The Elder Scrolls Online it is set about 1,000 years before Skyrim and is an MMO set in The Elder Scrolls world. And the spin offs for The Elder Scrolls series are The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard it takes place on Stros M Kai and you play as Cyrus but you are not able to customize you're character in this game. And An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire it has character customisation and takes place in a strange building called the Battlespire and there are more spin offs like Shadowkey and The Elder Scrolls Blades.:rsdihh::goldbar666:
