So draugr deathlords are rough ...
So my character is level 36 using one handers, shield, and heavy armor. I"ve got ebony gear and I just completed the main quest. For me the toughest part of it was the high level draugr at the end. Do those deathlords become easier to kill at some point?

No. You're ****, dude.

But to be serious, you need to:
- Invest your perks into the relevant skills
- Focus on your main skills, don't spread them out
- Upgrade your gear with smithing and enchanting
- Pick a follower

Otherwise, just as that comic highlights, the draugr will own your ***. They're tied to your level, and if your combat skills are underlevelled, then you have no other choice, but to lower the difficulty level.

Welcome to Skyrim, where you probably don't have maxed out combat damage perks or something... because, foolishly, you're likely just playing pretty normally and have picked up a lot of nice quality of life and such with your perk points.

This is why I don't hugely respect the difficulty because, ultimately, it either turns into needing to be cheesed and/or sacrificing QOL for going excessively hard into damage perks.

And even then some classes of enemies are supposed to be bosses/minibosses. Deathlords and their variants are one of those, Dragons of course, Dwarven Centurions.

Use the first shout you learned against them....before they use it on you.... then rush in and pound on them so they can't use it on you. !Unrelenting force! Use a weapon enchanted with stun. Easy as cheery pie!

If only weapon enchantments weren't obnoxiously consumable.
Also answers like "Do X Y Z like my build!" really doesn't help someone playing differently.

sorry but the advice given by the others is the best advice.

Focus you perk points into your main skills, because otherwise enemies get stronger but you effectively don't.
Improve weapons and armour at the smiths table and grindstone, because that way they are more effective.
Invest in enchantments, and carry a backup weapon with a different enchantment, so if you are using a fire weapon, carry a frost or shock weapon... also enchant your bow with shock damage, since dragons aren't resistant to that. Also consider resist Fire/Shock/Frost enchantments or even the less effective but all round resist magic enchanment.
Also get Spell breaker, not as good as a shield but blocks spells and shouts.

:steamthis: Like i said, the shout itself will knock them back and stun them, rush in with any weapon enchanted with a minimal 2 second stun (which is NOT obnoxiously consumable).
It really isn't an X,Y,Z do like my build lol Just sound advice and at a minimal investment.
I am in no way saying this is the best way for you and i really didn't need to write a book about it, just two simple steps to easily defeat them..period!

Well if youare burning through enchantment crystals too quickly, you could always type :
player.additem 2e504 20. THat will give you 20 black filled crystals. ENjoy.
I can't really say, not sure what difficulty you are playing on. I usually chill on Adept but bump it to Expert if I made it too easy with my build. I don't mess with the last two because you need to invest a lot into damage, can't just relax and play the game. You can always use Unrelenting Force to knock them down. If nothing else take the time to improve alchemy/enchanting/smithing to improve your gear and make stronger stuff. Stalhrim weapons are really good for enchanting if you have fire/frost/shock enchanter. You can make the Chaos enchantment do insane damage if you wanna make your weapon do tons of damage.
they cap out at lvl 40 , so other than special named boss ones you wont encounter any stronger than that.

Enchantments is the key to deal with tough enemies.
Nice weapon effects for dealing damage (or to debuff/stun) and defensive armour effects for protection.
For instance, you can stack magic resistance above 50% to prevent knockdown from shouts.
Investing in alchemie and/or restoration is also nice for healing during combat.

Use daggers, can kill anything in 1 or 2 hits,
You need no armour. no sword no shield, busted up Alduien on Legendary with daggers and no armour, IF I can do that, surely u can take out a death lord, with your style?

use the shout marked for death
Draugr Deathlords are hard to kill from the get go, and get even harder later on. But there's ways to stop them.

Try to use the unrelenting force shout on them before they use it on you. This is pretty much a stun, from a short stagger to a full knockdown. After it connects, rush in and wail on them for damage. You can also power attack, light attack twice, power attack, and loop over and over. However, this relies on having a good amount of stamina, otherwise you can't loop the power attack when you need to. Alternatively, you can shield bash them to stun them. Especially helpful when they try to shout at you.

Your best bet in this situation is to invest some time in Smithing You don't need to go full Mary Sue and go for the trifecta of Smithing, Alchemy and Enchanting, it's complete overkill and will make the entire game trivial. Unless that's what you want but i wouldn't recommend it. Use smithing, get some simple fortify smithing equipment, some fortify smithing potions, use pre enchanted gear you find for combat, use potions you find, and you should be good.

I got my smithing to 60 so I can upgrade magical items. Got the nightingale bow and chillwind sword (both paralyze), so it's gotten easier. Still haven't seen a single piece of daedric gear, so I'll keep leveling smithing so I can make it I suppose.

Turns out falmer shadowmasters might be even more dangerous. I guess there are just so high level enemies to watch out for. Thanks for the tips!
