Is Skyrim broken now? (Unplayable for me)
I haven't played Skyrim in a few months. I get back on, load up my mods from the CC menu ingame, and get to my save. It just crashes to desktop within a few moments. I Delete every file of the game & uninstall then reinstall & it still crashes. I delete all mods & it still crashes.
So basically I can not play Skyrim. It is too late for refund at this point, I have owned the game for a few years now. Is the game just broke?

I've tried everything from the patch downgrader to some crazy "coding" steps through CMD & just can't get Skyrim to work. I'm heart broken as this is one of like 3 games that I play as i am not interested in anything else game wise.

I am running a 2022 made Win 11 Asus Tuff. Game has ran fine since I've had it on my computer. I can play just about any AAA game in max settings.

Maybe my mods are incompatible? But I only download mods from CC menu & do not use many. I've not had issues until now.

I've tried using vortex which seems kinda stupid considering Skyrim has the CC menu & I should not have to launch game through vortex. I do not understand. I just want to play skyrim. I paid $20 for this game.

Should I only download mods through Nexus> are CC mods broken? Nexus is all over the place & I can not find usable mods, just masses of random stuff that I do not understand.

I am frustrated as Skyrim worked just fine with my mods a few months ago.

Check this guide for a truly clean reinstall:

If that one doesn't help, or if you've already reinstalled it properly, then provide your mod list.

The CC menu is perhaps the worst way to install mods, and right now, you're learning why.

They asked if the game was broken so I answered. My bad for answering the question.

The game is quite obviously not broken. There were no updates or other changes to it for over a year, so OP's issue is most definitely a mod.

Uninstall the game.
After uninstalling, navigate to C: / Users > yourusername > Appdata >Local and in the local folder delete the Skyrim Special Edition folder (if there is one)...
Then, Navigate to Documents > My Games and delete the SKyrim Special Edition Folder ( if there is one). Scroll through your entire Documents folder for any other folder that may exist for Skyrim Special Edition as well.
Make sure "cloud saves" is OFF
Reinstall the game , Verify game files after install completes , and it should launch fine.
Enjoy SSE once again!
