Bought Se but graphics look OLD

Graphics set to ultra and look like ancient skyrim original, NOTHING like the videos anywhere for this SE. What gives??

Most likely you're looking at videos made by people that use dozens of mods to improve the graphics alone.
The difference with SE is still noticeable but it's hardly a night and day improvement (first video I got on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xoer2MCSrzc)

Well yes, videos can be enhanced, coloured, adjusted, an 101 other tricks, or do u really think, that the Whopper on offer in the paper, looks like that when u buy it?.

IT IS OLD!!! no amount of HD mods or ultra settings will change that....

I have excactly the same problem, I can't play anymore. The game is in ultra and even when i switch in low quality it is the same :(

IIRC the only noticeable changes SE made to the game visually was that they toned down the heavy washed out/sepia-toned filter of LE a little bit and improved lighting a tad (fire effects, light beams, god rays, etc).

I think things like models and textures remained more-or-less unchanged from their original resolution and quality.

As others have said, it sounds like you’ve been watching videos of people playing modded versions of the game who’re using various graphical enhancements to lighting, textures, models, etc.

If you have the time, experience, or the willingness to learn how to mod - it’s worth looking into improving the game visually. Modders have accomplished incredible things with Skyrim and you can make this 2011 game look very much like something that came out ten years later.

They look old but they still look good.

The gusts of wind over snowbanks still impress me.

if you grab some texture mods, the game looks very good, like a new game 2024 :)

if you dont have a strong gpu with lots of video memory, dont grab stuff in 8k and 16k xD
Skyland AIO is in 2k and makes the whole game look lots of better, dawnguard and dragonborn dlc included! : )

and you could skip installing skylands sky textures and use this one instead! Praedy's Sky AIO - SE ,probably the best sky mod out there, with beautiful auroras. check out True storms aswell, its a great weather mod :D

true storms interior rain and thunder sounds really makes it comfy to be inside the houses, sitting near the fire

That said Nolvus is a acquired taste I mean it almost changes everything and the graphics style is very much debatable.

I mean OP was looking for better graphic than the base game. I feel that Nolvus is providing that. Not sure where is the debate about it :)
Maybe you feel the # of mods vs the overall graphic result is not worth it ?
