I'd strongly advise you scan your system with an AV, just to be sure your system is not compromised.
Too late now.
Good. you should scan your registry to get rid of the actual malware.
yes, it would be your best bet. I must warn you however, it is notoriously hard to get rid of and some av don't detect it. Scan multiple times until it is found, and if you can, set your av to focus on registry since that's where it's located.
I wouldn't go to such extremes yet. Scan again and try changing your av parameters.
It's a hidden threat. It manages to hide it's functions by mimicking regular website cookie functions, thus your av is having a hard time detecting it as a real threat.
It doesn't cause any real damage to your system however, but can still cause performance decrease.
Did you find it?
My friend had downloaded Porting Kit just a few days ago, and it started slowing down his PC, even though he only had it for a few hours. He did factory reset and then the problem was gone. If you are experiencing low fps or anything of that sort, i'd strongly advise scanning again.
