Now that wouldn't be a bad mod:
Vilkas: "I think I'm ready to give up the beast power and gifts of Hircine. I want to go to Sovngarde when I die."
Uthgerd: "Hold reeeeeeal still."
Vilkas: "Shor's balls! Sovngarde is even more beautiful than I'd imagined! Wait, what? No....I meant...like, after a long life, maybe when I'm as old as Kodlak....damn!"
Hircine: "Dafuk you doin' here?"
Wolf Spirit: "OW! OW! OW! OW! OW! OW! OW! OW! OW! OW!"
Thing is that the Companions do not thoroughly seek to recruit people, people seek them to join, it's more like an anarchic mini-society where everyone sort of does as they please.
Being Harbinger means you give council and lead the companions on major efforts, but Harbingers aren't exactly guild leaders.
As for the AI package, even if done perfectly, she'd still miss voice lines for being a member unless Bethesda had some sort of cut quest that did that (although i've never heard of such a thing).
As Lore goes she killed the guy violently on purpose, it wasn't like she was "taken by the heat of the moment" nor "accidentally" killed her sparring match, it was very likely it was intentional hence why she was refused. Thing is that nobody makes it clear, but there's the underlying factor that they are Werewolves, if they don't kill during sparring even with the beast blood running in them, Uthred probably has mental issues, a psychotic nutjob so to speak. Now there's an interesting Idea, wish we had shivering Isles for Skyrim, send her to papa sheo so she could be shaped into her craziness!
Or something.
It's just harder for us to see it due to Uthred not being a fully flushed character, once she becomes a follower she becomes a zombie (much like all vanilla followers)
She does well as a Blade (1h+block+heavy armor) - best blades are ususally Inigo/Onmund (heavy armor + magic), Housecarls (never do it, it's not a clever move), Belrand (spellblade hireling), Arthis/Ria/Torvar (Companions), Celann (Dawnguard), Vorstag (Hireling), Golldir (post quest follower), Kharjo (Khajit follower after quest), Ogol (Orsimer), Borghak (Orsimer), Cosnach (brawl).
Personally I prefer to pickup fools who have no where to live after they become potential followers (Golldir/Erandur/Derkeethus) - although it isn't the best setup for blades, Golldir makes a great tank (all his skills fit with the blades outfit) Illia too, but I prefer her as a steward.
Lorewise I've played everything, even thalmor, so there's no "correct way" to play, when we discuss lore generally it's speculating about what would or wouldn't be canon. Personally I dislike the empire on a macro level, but on a micro level being part of it is super fun. I also think Ulfric is a incompetent sycophant, but I still often side with stormcloaks when interpreting toons that have deep hatred towards elves, or thalmor, or the empire itself. Doesn't mean anything, so do not worry.
