Mods to Put Women in the Guard
I've been looking into mods that will put more women in the ranks of the various Hold Guards and in the Legion (though I'm certain I saw a fair amount of women in the Legion, probably due to a different mod.)

Can anyone tell me the difference between these three mods?:

--Female Imperial Guards and Soldiers (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/42904?tab=description)

--Unisex Empire - Female Legionaries and Hold Guards (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/41267?tab=description)

--Diverse Guards Skyrim (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2324?tab=posts&BH=0)

The holds have tons of female guards.

If memory serves, there is not a single female guard in Whiterun, Morthal, I think Solitude, Falkreath, or Markarth. Possibly the Pale, as well, but I'm not sure.

There is. But most of the female guards are of the patrolling variety. If it is a "Stand here for the rest of the game" guard they tend to be male. And now that you mention it Solitude dont have any female guards as far as i can recall. The others have.

I'm quite certain that there are no women in Whiterun's or Falkreath's Guard.

I just double-checked Winterhold, the Pale, and Markarth and there were, in fact, women in uniform in Winterhold and the Pale, but NOT in Markarth.

So, you're right. More than I had thought. I think the gist of it is that Stormcloak holds have women in the ranks and Imperial holds don't. Which means that Ulfric and his gang may be racist ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but the Empire is full of sexists. Joy. :P

In any case, I still want to understand the difference between those three mods.

I believe because the Imperial-aligned hold guards are drawn from Imperial Soldiers in the Creation kit. I use a mod called Legionettes, which IIRC was converted from Oldrim, and as soon as I started seeing female Legionaires, I also started seeing female guards in those holds. Once the Stormcloaks take a hold, there are more female guards anyway.

Daniel, the easiest thing to do is manually download them to a safe folder, extract and place all 3 .esp files in your data folder (don't use mod manager or activate them, as they're not staying there long). Open xedit, check all 3 of those, and you'll be able to see all/only the changes each mod made to the game. It helps for comparison, so you know which mod touches what, and can rule out potentially-problematic mods, which might make navmesh changes or touch areas you've already modded. When you're done, remember to delete all 3 from your data folder. If you decide to use one, delete all the loose stuff, take the archive and install however you normally would.

I think you are grossly overestimating my understanding of what goes on under a mod's hood. I'm very much a plug-in-and-play modder.
