Is nexusmods.com Safe or Not

The issue that I've experienced was performance issues as well as freezing when I used a few mods from the Nexus. As far as I know. I believe there might be a virus or something or several viruses found on the website.I wouldn't recommend downloading anything. Personally, that's just me, but I've had bad experience with this website. Specifically. I did have one problem with it where it where my computer was doing. Basically it was freezing, my graphics card drivers were crashing, even my Windows Security Center.Disappeared and wouldn't restart even after I restarted the computer.I basically had a format my whole entire computer just to fix this issue.As far as I know, I do believe that they have some form of malware or some type of hidden virus that antiviruses cannot pick up on.As far as I know, I don't believe it's safe for to download any of the modding tools personally.I do believe that they contain malware and maybe some mods, but it is very feels like it's very unsafe for a website.Considering they've been hacked once before.

I and many others have literally downloaded many thousands of mods from Nexus. Never once have I had or heard about a an issue. Nexus is as safe as it gets.

No, I downloaded it directly from the Nexus.

But no, I directly downloaded it directly from the Nexus website itself.I normally don't go to other websites except for that one when it comes to modding.It's the only one that really has nearly all the mods to begin with.

You got to be a fool to download it from a third party website.Good way to get infected.Or the virus to begin with.I was just having random issues when I installed the mod from the Nexus website.And it's being detected as malware and it's. It's not the red executable that's being detected, it's the blue one that's found in that folder.To begin with, it's the one being detected. Only one AV sees them on virus total though for some reason.And the rest don't even detect it.

I mean, I just sent it to Malwarebytes to be analyzed. So I mean if it comes up to be safe and they say there's nothing wrong there, it could be something else maybe?

It's a false positive you cant fully trust what those garbage anti virus free to use software says all the time trust us when we say Nexus mods is safe.

If you are really scared about installing the modded files throw it into virus total as they use multiple anti virus scanners outside of just malware bytes.

Apparently the file actually has to be analyzed fully, because apparently Malwarebytes only scans the file when it's uploaded to them. They don't actually check the bionary code of the actual executable.

Like I said Nexus mods is a reputable site. But if you fell you had a problem I'd suggest 2 things. 1. Get an ad blocker. 2. Write to Nexus support and explain your concern.
