He's not on the list, besides he already likes Camilla so your (or your friend's) dreams can't come true unfortunately

But I think that they are mods that let you do it with faendal I know there is one for Brenuin in Whiterun there might be a mod that makes every NPC being able to do this I think I have seen mods like this before.

Can you even compete with Camilla though? You're just a random dragonborn

I also think that Faendal can also be recruited as a steward for the Blades in the base game I think so you could do this as well like if you're friend is playing on a character that has not done faendal and did it with another NPC you can still be able to at least recruit him for the Blades.

Yes, he is recruitable for the Blades.
wrong selected answer. patently false.

yeah I get it, he's got an aged "Legolas" slant going on... and, you can marry anybody, even unique NPCs. but you know he pines for Camilla... so finish up that love triangle quest first, so he's just a regular trainer follower NPC.

anyway, the rundown is, add him to marriage potential faction, he's already a potential follower so no need to manipulate that nor courage or aggression, remove his firewood task faction, make him your friend, make you his friend, disable then enable to reset dialogue options and actor package choices, give yourself a mara amulet and equip it, teleport to the temple of mara, teleport him to you, close the console... now, ask for marriage, talk to Maramal to schedule the ceremony, and wait 24 hours or whatever is next day sunrise to sunset...

so, open the console: (he doesn't have to be in front of you)

prid 1348c
addfac 19809 1
removefac 51595
setrelationshiprank 14 3
player.setrelationshiprank 1348c 3
disable
enable
player.additem c891b 1
player.equipitem c891b
coc riftentempleofmara
moveto player

note he stops leveling at 30th, so if you're higher and want him higher too, tag him again and 'setlevel #'

he may still run off and idle back in Riverwood cause that's still in his package stack, I don't know if marriage will be higher in the stack, but if he's running off to stalk his crush Camilla, removefac the riverwoodtownfaction_id and addfac the house you moved him to, like for example the byohhouse3faction_id if it's not in his faction list... (look these up on UESP or any wiki, or if you have informative console installed just search for those FACT IDs). some will assign correctly when you move them, others won't... these are forced marriages afterall and some things you have to do manually. hey you should expect complications when you're using console magic to compel someone to love you. :possession:

(edit: he's already 'prid'ed, don't need to specify his refID again. fixed.)

Or, if you know basics of CK, just pop him open there and set him available for marriage. At the same time you might want to increase his maximum level.

Console works, but that would a bit more lasting solution.
yeah but CK intimidates a lot of people, console is just easier for them. so many never even install it. :steamfacepalm: but as for lasting, what you mean is game to game, because this lasts for the duration of this game run... some people do marry the same NPC every single time, but I bet most prefer variety.

and speaking of lasting and variety, when you're bored of him and want another marriage partner, the steps for divorce are similar; remove yourself from being married (though technically if you don't remove marriage factions from him, it's a kind of one-sided polygamy, but it's not important or necessary to do so), then reset the two marriage quests, as love fades sometimes as fast as it strikes... go polish up that mara amulet.

player.removefac c6472
resetquest 74793
resetquest 21382
(go ask someone else normally or via same console commands)
