Enchantments on follower gear?
If you give say Lydia a sword that has say Absorb Stamina enchanted on it does it work the same way it does for the player?

Weapon enchantments should work, but armor enchantments are limited without mods.

Hmm..... Depend on what build you going for your follower. Personally I just give them like.....

Crazy amount of fortify Stamina/heath/Mana/carry weight. Also I give them like a weapon have large amount base attack. They pretty much good to go.

If you know how to do that game breaking potion things.

To go into this further, the reason why some effects don't work on NPCs is because the game gives the player two secret abilities to 1) regen health in combat and 2) translate enchantment numbers into actual useful effects.

You can see these effects in action on NPCs with a few mods. If you have the Lucien mod, he has one of those abilities - called Skill Boosts - so theoretically he can outdamage his buddy Inigo in combat with strong enough enchantments and enough training. The enemy mod Lawless gives Heavy Armor bandits a variant on the combat regen effect so they can make use of the Simonrim HA regen perks.

If you want to change that behaviour: this is the mod I am using.

Enchantments and Potions Work for NPCs - EPW4NPCs (SKSE64) (SPID Plugin ini)

Now if I only understood SPID after watching umpteen vids and guides.

You do not need to understand SPID , if you are just allowing other mods to distribute content through it. It is pretty much install and go -solution.

If you want to edit the distribution yourself... then that is another matter.
