CTD Question
So yes I have mods, but the game works fine. Heres where its weird
I can start a new game, no issues, all the mods work I can go wherever for however long.

then when I save and inevitably close the game, the next time i start skyrim and load all the menus stop working and I CTD. can still play fine but if I bring up favorites or settings or try to even pause it CTD.

BUT once again i can start a new game fine etc etc.

Is my game not saving correctly?

1. Are you using full saves, or quick/auto-saves? If it's the latter, for how long, and how often were you using them?

2. Check how big your old saves are.

3. Also, did you uninstall any mods on this old save?

incredibly common occurrence with mod users, especially impatient ones; it could be literally anything to do with mods. one is when you mixed up downloads and grabbed an LE mod and stuffed it in your SE load order, or a pre-1130 mod in 1130/1170 with the wrong header; game works fine, once, but now the save is unloadable, even trying right after saving it, even a tiny brand-new game just exiting helgen on the way to riverwood.

if it's crashing the UI simply trying to pull up the menu, I would start with those relevant .dll mods, but that's more a hunch from past troubleshooting than anything. SKSE makes logs, they're in your save location under SKSE\ I'd start my reading there.

both, not long im talking less than 24 hours between playing/saving/loading
so often not even at whiterun yet because i have to keep restarting with no uninstalling. These are multiple new saves 3-5 of them.

I wont deny i have messed up with the whole SE/LE mods but i fixed them and checked. I am currently starting my 8th new game to see if getting rid of some mods will fix it but you described it very well regarding saves on the way to riverwood lol

Posting your modlist may help, but I’d recommend grabbing CLA SSE.

It’s a crash log analyzer that will translate your crash logs into something much more comprehensible for us normal people.

It’ll identify what is most likely causing the crash, and provide solutions if it can.

1. Don't rely on auto or quicksaves. Using them exclusively is just bound to cause savegame corruption.
2. Sort your mods with LOOT, then read its output summary. It will tell you about LE mods, incompatibilites, missing prerequisites or necessary patches.
I have crassh logs but im unclear on the issue described, I had thought that call stack would have a mod in it causing the issue but to me it reads theres an issue with the game itself? I will try not using quicksave

Steam does not create drop lists, so just edit spoiler tags off.

Feel free to use Quick- and autosaves (if latter does not crash your game), but remember to make full saves as well.

I am using quick saves as "on go" saves, between steady full saves.
<Full Save> I am going to Dustman Cairn.
<Quick Save> Wait... are there saber cats around?
<Full Save> We are entering in to cairn.
<Quick Save> Are you my mommy?
<Quick Load> TF was that? Go home Skyrim, you are drunk.
<Full Save> We are at the sanctum door..

Okay, posting the log in clear text, but spoiler'ed was probably the worst way to do it. I haven't even thought of such an abomination. Congrats. You've reached a new low.

Anyway:
- Sort your mod list with LOOT, and post its summary
- Install a proper crash logger (as described above), and post its output as well.

And post your full crashlog. The above part of the crashlog doesn't tell us anything beside an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION, which could be caused by anything. There is also no need to publish the complete crashlog as many lines in the crashlog are meaningless to most of us, if not to all of us. See the following guide to see what to publish and what not:
