Sky Ui bugged ?

I have read the discussions about this problem and the solutions. I started a new play through and have now run into it myself. The game played well and I even had several saves that I reloaded from and played to level 10. Then the screen says Sky uI is not working. I DL'ed the fix from Nexus but it didn't help. So I read through all the solutions again but none of them have worked. Is there a definitive answer to the problem of Sky Ui?

What Mod Manager do you use? Do you have SKSE? Check the load order, disable all other mods except necessary ones and SkyUI, and make a new game save to check to see if it works.

Yes , I did that and even went so far as to to delete all mods. Then delete all files all saves etc, deleted Skyrim and doing a "Clean" Install to a different drive. It only runs un modded and only when I start a game. When I try and load the save game it's error message pops up telling me is error 1. I respond by reinstalling Skse even though I already had the newest one loaded so I have no choice but to run my play through s without Sky UI. It's really very frustrating. I also have tried using the older Sky UI mod. But I am SOL evidently.

Check xpmse and make sure SKSE has been install correctly mainly scripts etc.

There is an issue with the INGAME Mod manager and SkyUI. If you are using that to enable your mods. You will likely see it disabling.

Go to AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition and find the plugins.txt file. Open it in any text editor and find the SkyUI_SE.esp entry. Put an asterix to the left of SKYUI.

Example:

*SkyUI_SE.esp

save and exit the text editor. Fire up the game and check if it works. You may have to wait a minute or two for MCM to become active. (Hopefully you have some MCM using mods installed so you can see it.)

Edit: "You did read I already worked on all the solutions, right?" Yes we read that. But since you didn't specify what you actually did. We can't assume you have tried anything at all.

Thanks for the help. I did run through all the various fixes and somewhere found the answer although I can't tell you which one did the trick. I have a terrible time following instructions. It's a personal affliction you don't want to know about so I won't bore you all with it. I do appreciate your much needed info, it really helped me to focus in on the problem. All is well now.

Vortex won't install SKSE right.. just copy it in manually and it should work.. I just did full reinstall this week of it all.

SKYUI has not changed or updated since October of 2017. That said I have been using Vortex to install SKYUI with every load order since that date and have never ever had a problem that was the result of using Vortex.

Glad you got it all worked out Gunslinger. Not sure what you did to make it all work. Although I have never needed to add an * when installing but I have seen some others fix it by using the * as Ihateeverybody posted. Again, glad you got it all worked out. Enjoy.
