Folks, help a gal out with some mod trouble? (Partial automatic disable of mods)
Hey people!
I usually dont come out of my silly gaming corner to write stuff out like this, and mostly do my best to resolve things on my own, but ive hit quite an obstacle thats really bumming me out and i dont know what to do ;;

Every time i launch my game and try to load a save, i get notified of a few mods that are missing from this current save. Even though i had them installed, they suddenly got disabled. I thought it was a one time thing so i went ahead and re-enabled them from the workshop as i do and everything worked fine! Until I re-launched the game once again, only to be met with the same problem...The mods i have that the game keeps automatically disabling mean alot to me, and make my gameplay super fun and engaging to experience, so i really dont want to give up on them - But, at the same time, it feels so tideous to be constantly switching them on with every launch...

Did somebody else have any similar problems with this? And if so, how did you solve them? I really want these mods to work out ;; Im afraid i already tried to re-verify the game files as well as doing a mass disabling/enabling of the mods and the problem still persists...

I'd love if anyone could come for my aid and help me out! Thank you so much for whoever stops by to read!

It's from the recent update. Mods that are script heavy and use SKSE are needed to be updated by the authors.

Check the pinned topics at the top for more detailed info.
... by folks that are a whole lot smarter than I could ever be.

Hey, not sure if you notice but there was an update today. That tends to completely break modded games.

The only real recomendation I can give is to stop using Steam Workshops to mod Bethesda games. It´s fine for other things, but Bethesda games are very complex beasts that generally requiere even specific modding tools.

If you wanna play Daggerfall you are better of with DFUnity, for Morrowind there´s OpenMW, for Olbivion people say OBMM but I found Vortex is good, don´t know if there´s something along those lines for Skyrim just yet (in theory OpenMW will be capable I´ve read, but last I checked Morrowind is still the only game it can run).

I would consider localizing those mods on the NEXUS, save your saved games files, make a list of all those mods and their order, unistall SkyrimSE entirelly. Clean save, start adding those mods you had with VOrtex, take the saved files to the saves folder and run the game through SKSE64.. then pray. Other than that you only have waiting until each mod is updated to the current game version.

They seem to be having issues with yesterdays patch/update. They are working on it.

This from Bethesda's Discord:
"Hi folks, we are aware of an issue following today's Skyrim patch where some downloaded mods suddenly became unavailable in-game after accessing the mods menu. We are actively investigating this and will share an update as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience!"

You should not be using Steam's Workshop to mod Skyrim Special Edition because the mods from the workshop are for a different game. Yes Skyrim, and Skyrim SE are 2 different games when it comes to modding.

Steam Workshop is ONLY for Skyrim or what many call "Oldrim"

I would not use or even access the In-Game Mod Menu either.
Use Nexus mods for the best experience

Your Solution:

Don't Update your Game, problem Solved...

Oh, but you already Updated it?

Ya, I guess it sucks to be you
then, & nothing you can do...

Have fun...

Btw, if you can convince your MOD
Creator to Update that MOD, then
maybe, just maybe you'll be in luck,
& it won't suck to be you afterall...

But, likely chance your stuck without
your MOD's getting any Updates at all...

Don't like it? Tough...

-----------------------------------------

That's just how things are today,
if this was 10 or more Years ago?

Then you wouldn't have this problem,
all your MOD's would work, & you'd be
about as Happy with MOD's as the
rest of us...

But again, today is all about what People tell you that they think you need, instead of asking what you actually really want...

I hate that kind of thinking, but you know?
It's not gonna change, unless People start waking up to it first...

You see? Why MOD's need the Updates at all, has to do with your Game requiring Updates, but again... Why does an old Game that doesn't use Internet need Updates at all, when it works fine the way it is already?

Well, because your being told it needs an Update, when the reality is that it does not need one... But you have no choice, cause that Update is Automatic anyways...

So weather you care or not, doesn't matter to the one Updating...

Again, it's right back to what I said that your told what you need, instead of asked what you want...

It is 1 of the dummest things i've ever heard come out of the last 7 Years, if not even earlier then that, -_-

It's a Poorly put out Excuse, is what it is,
for requiring to need work on any Game today, just for the sake of the Game, & no real other reason at all...

This is indeed interesting. I just checked my LO, out of curiosity and half of the mods were disabled.

Yes, since when do Game Devs not have
issues with Updates needing Fixes today?

Oh, right?

Like 10 Years ago, & Earlier then that, -_-

Today, it's all they do, is bug fixes, & Updates
that break more things, causing more Patches...

They shouldn't even be Patching the Game at all, it's already an old Game, it's out dated, & the only reason anyone still plays it, is because everything else sucks, & people are just waiting for ES6...

It's the same excuse for L4D2 today...

These Games are outdated as all hell,
these Devs are wasting their time, &
our time Updating them...
