Arch Curate vyrthur missing.
In touching the sky quest and he is not in his throne, Serana does her part of the dialogue but Arch curate is not there.

Have you tried spawning him in? Or does he just stand there and not do his dialogue part?

No, He is just not there, And the marker is just in his throne.

Load an earlier save and re-do it.

How many times is not relevant...how far back the save is...is. Try going back to a point before emptying the Ewer...and then try a save before each time you fill the Ewer. If you want to skip the process of elimination...I'd say go back to a save before you meet Gelebor for the first time. Good luck.

I went back before even starting the quest.

I take that to mean before entering Darkfall Cave...
Well crap...
I am assuming there are no mods in the mix....

As a matter of fact, I do have a lot of mods, But none that affect the dawnguard questline other than the fort dawnguard itself looking better.

Had the same problem on my last Dawnguard playthrough. Open the console and type(minus the quote marks) "setstage DLC1VQ07 200" and this should complete the quest. The waypoint should open and you can take Auriel's Bow. If you type in 150 instead of 200, Vyrthur will be dead and you can talk with Celembor and follow the quest to its' end. Hope this helps.:steamhappy:

Late to the party but i managed to fix the quest to be able to play it instead of skipping it with "setstage" by looking up his refrence id, which was 2006c13 in my game (you can look it up), then using "prid <insert ref id>" to select it at the top then entered "resetai" and aditionally "enable" for good measure, not sure which did it but it brought him back and he sat right on his throne as he should

Enable would probably be the main thing, I wouldn't try resetai other than as a bit of a last resort.

Definitely preferable to fussing with quest stages, though, if the console is going to be used (should always be absolutely a 'if I don't do this I'm abandoning the playthrough anyway' level last resort) it should be in the least aggressive way possible. Setstage can work, but it can also be more 'papering over the problem', in that you might skip one stage only to find things get progressively more broken as the actual issue is still there.

For example, I had a problem recently with Pieces of the Past not starting up. I was only playing it to hear some follower dialogue, so I didn't mind using setstage to get through it as I was fine with reloading to before I used the console and ignoring the quest in my actual save. So, I figured fine, I'll brute force it. Used setstage to advance one step at a time until something seemed to happen (I got the quest starting up in my journal, Silus gave some dialogue, my follower had his conversation about it).

Then I fast traveled to Morthal because I knew that was one of the locations, and tried to talk to the guy to get his piece of the Razor. Nothing. No quest dialogue, no quest marker (this was a no SKSE playthrough as I started it when AE first launched). Opened the journal and realised the journal entry was borked, too. No map markers, either, and setstage wouldn't do anything more.

Fortunately, I checked through my mods in xedit and found only two had any connection to that quest, and when I looked on the Nexus, one of them had an update because the version I was using had accidentally messed something up with the quest, I was able to update and the quest ran smoothly when I loaded to before I went to the museum.

Dude, thanks for that, I'm not good with console commands and stuff so I never would've figured that out, but it worked perfectly.

Save your game before using console commands just in case.
