- Currently it's 1.6.640.
- If you can get all the pieces and parts, then 1.5.097 is the true best version, but it'll be rough getting all of the pieces and parts, as well as downgrading your game.
- The current version 1.6.1170 has many mods available, but there's also a lot that're broken.
For me, the collection that I'm using hasn't upgraded to 1.6.1170, so the version that I stick with is 1.6.640. I've also tried upgrading my game to 1.6.1170 as well and to me, 1.6.640 is my preferred version to both play and use mods on.
i personally use 1.6.1170 it's just a little better it feels like it run smoother.
OSTIM standalone is updated for the most recent version of the game I believe... any models/texture mods (like weapons, armor, etc) usually can work regardless of game version with the exception of things that require physics like 3ba body (and therefore F-SMP, which is updated to current), so if you are only using those and then something to update combat you're only limited by the combat mods you choose and any extensions or add-ons for OSTIM.
If you want just base OSTIM functionality, then find a combat mod you like that is updated to the most recent version of the game and you should be able to play on the current game version.
