It's more a question of which version has the most unbroken mods available.:
- Currently it's 1.6.640.
- If you can get all the pieces and parts, then 1.5.097 is the true best version, but it'll be rough getting all of the pieces and parts, as well as downgrading your game.
- The current version 1.6.1170 has many mods available, but there's also a lot that're broken.

For me, the collection that I'm using hasn't upgraded to 1.6.1170, so the version that I stick with is 1.6.640. I've also tried upgrading my game to 1.6.1170 as well and to me, 1.6.640 is my preferred version to both play and use mods on.

1.6.640 is really good for modding

i personally use 1.6.1170 it's just a little better it feels like it run smoother.

if you use a mod pack like Nolvus or similar some of them have automatic patchers for game version, it makes it really easy and saves you time and effort patching it yourself. But if you'd rather build your own list from scratch, go with 1.6.640 since more are available for that

well, what I want is ostim, change the action a little, add weapons to the graphics, mostly busty girls (hentai)))),armor of all 18+

Just use the most up to date version if you want to use OStim as all OStim mods have either been updated or were made for the most recent executable. The same goes for BFCO and OBody.

OSTIM standalone is updated for the most recent version of the game I believe... any models/texture mods (like weapons, armor, etc) usually can work regardless of game version with the exception of things that require physics like 3ba body (and therefore F-SMP, which is updated to current), so if you are only using those and then something to update combat you're only limited by the combat mods you choose and any extensions or add-ons for OSTIM.

If you want just base OSTIM functionality, then find a combat mod you like that is updated to the most recent version of the game and you should be able to play on the current game version.

i say special edition aka anniversary edition because it has new mods being added to it skyrim 2011 release does not get as much new mods as the new release but they are still mods being made for the 2011 release

In general, will the latest version be relevant for me?

Yes and no. Current version has had a lot of time to get ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in terms of mods being broken. I think now its basically 1:1 except some need alternate upload versions. Many pages have like 3 mod versions visible still. (3 game versions) Generally latest game update is a bad idea since you have no idea when the mods will be updated larger mod list larger problem. Use some method of stopping updates like renaming the games folder so steam does not know it exists.

Then version 1.6.640 is the most optimal, I look at the Nexus a lot of mods have been updated to this version and higher.

Depends on the mods that YOU install / installed. 1170 is fine.
