It's that nothing they're adding is achievement friendly going forward. I would love for the curated ones to have that tag at least.
The whole point of the post is that I don't want to use mods. Like, at all.
*Clicks profile, sees they have 5000 hours and zero achievements*
"LMFAO what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ noob. His ♥♥♥♥ is probably small too!"
Such is the future the op is doomed to if he wants to enjoy the game with mods.
Damn you, Todd! Damn you!!!!
No, I just do a lot of challenge runs and that is the line in the sand that I drew. Having mods, given their highly variable nature, makes those challenge runs repeatable by anyone, across any console.
The creation club stuff was like getting mods that had Bethesda's blessing, thus making them "part of the game" and useable for the challenges. They have since lost that now that all CC content disables achievements.
I get that it's a totally arbitrary restriction, but it is a fair ask since it's already implemented in Starfield. We know it can be done.
If you're okay with third party mods like that, it's literally only one mod you need that re-enables achievements and you can still have your challenge runs. You just need one disclaimer that says "x mod needs to be downloaded to re-enable achievements".
There's a chance Bethesda does change this in the future, but there's also a chance they don't. The fanbase has a meltdown any time they add a new update
Yeah, that sucked when I first realized that creations were kind of gone. At first, I thought things like the East Empire and Arquebus were "Bethesda Curated," but then I found out that they mean that bethesda approved them to be paid mods. So I had to uninstall them. I really wanted the BGS team to still release creations that were designed by other people and then looked over so that they could be "official." I'm not okay with mods, paid or otherwise.
But, it's a prison of my own making, so c'est la vie I guess.
