Bug: Vilkas not giving any quests

It's like it says in the title. I want to cure Vilkas of lycanthropy, but I can't get any radiant quests from him. The option just isn't there.

I have completed the main storyline for the companions, I have the glenmoril witch heads, I have cured Farkas, and I've completed the totems of Hircine quests. This occurred in unmodded skyrim.

I'm pulling my hair trying to figure out how to unbug Vilkas because I want to cure him.

Please help. I saw another topic regarding this very issue from a year ago, and that topic didn't have any resolution

"He may stop offering radiant quests after you retrieve the fragment of Wuuthrad from Dustman's Cairn."

Or normal behavior:

"After finishing the companions quest line, he or Farkas may not have a dialogue option to get work from them, thus making the purity quest impossible.

This is usually not a bug as it usually occurs when taking only one Glenmoril Witch's head during Blood's Honor quest. First acquire all or at least two for both Vilkas and Farkas (there are five heads in total). Then head back to Jorrvaskr and speak to Farkas or Vilkas (whoever didn't have quests to give) and they will start their Purity quest. Once that is complete they should start to give out normal quests again."

I'd also suggest to check your quests log, to see if there's a radiant quest that you have from one of the other companions. See if you can get a quest from other companions,
if not then you still have a quest to turn in to Aela Vilkas or Farkus.

Is one of the companions standing near the front door as a sign they are awaiting you to turn in a quest?

I'm replaying the Companion's questline for the first time in several years. When I did that quest, I only explored the cave until I found the first witch for Kodiak, then left.

The second time, there were 4 witch's heads outside of the cave on the path just outside of the cave. I don't have any Companion mods.

Nope; I don't have any radiant quests regarding the companions at the moment. Vilkas just doesn't want to give me quests.

Is there any way to fix the first mentioned bug?
Like, if I used console commands and killed Vilkas and then used commands to revive him, would that reset his dialogue options potentially?

Killing and reviving a character DOES NOT fix anything in game. IN fact your issue with Vilkas not giving you a quest sounds more like you had already killed and revived him previously. As people who get resurrected are like carbon copies that have NO attachment to the game and often have no dialogue.
Most times issues like yours are only solved by loading a previous save from before you had this problem.
