Much Ado About Snow Elves

I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem. I had found the second of three artifacts for Calcelmo and returned it to him before receiving his research notes. Now I am unable to get said notes to move the quest along because the game thinks i already have them.

the book should be available for sale.
Oh and it's Urag not calcelmo, you need to go to the college library.

Well probably it won't progress without that particular book from Urag yes it's for sale, but it can be that the book for the quest has another id

did you ever find a solution to this problem?

I've got the same problem, the quest "much ado about snow elves" started without getting the letter from the courier and Calcelmo won't give me his research notes journal. And without that, the three dwemer books don't appear in the college library.

That is a legacy of the dragonborn quest. You'd probably be better off asking on the mods forum, they are pretty good at helping people out and know way more about it than steam users.
