Heres the ones I usually have activated by default, in no real particular order -
1. Cutting room floor - adds a bunch of missing dialogue and content that didn't make it into the game for some reason, but was hiding in the game files
2. Alternate start live another life - because the opening intro is good, but good lord we've seen it so many times already.
3. Fluffworks - animals have fur now!
4. Skyland AIO - graphics and texture overhaul, super pretty, but its a personal taste sorta thing, you may like your rocks and trees to look different.
5. Interesting NPCs - Breathes more life into Skyrim in a lore friendly way, more people to talk to, more voice lines, nice sprinkle of little quests here and there.
6. The kids are alright renewal - because vanilla kids look like potatoes
7. SkyUI and SkyHUD - 2 mods in one because they go together so well, makes the menu a lot easier to navigate while keeping the vanilla look
8. EVLaS - Make your days prettier and nights darker!
9. Immersive weapons/armors - Another two in one deal. They've done a really good job at adding lore friendly stuff that just sorta makes sense.
10. Rosa Roundbottom - a large amazon bodyguard that will help you in your journey. ..and give you something nice to look at along the way. Probably the only follower i've ever bothered to download lmao.
*blahblahblah...yadayadayada..." hope that helps.
Dude we get it, but take into account, that asking rando Skyrim gamers for 10 mods each, not grasping you can't just mix-and-match them like they're salad toppings, one person's set might have half of them doing the exact same thing or being incompatible with someone else's, or being only for a certain version of Skyrim, or using different anim systems, or requiring 17 prerequisites they didn't bother to mention, etc. In the end, you're getting suggestions, sure, but you'll have to do just as much work and reading as you would just sitting on Nexus browsing and learning for a couple weeks.
Your best bet in these cases it to watch videos; find one where you like the look of of things, the combat overhauls, the spell changes, etc. Then follow their list or grab the nexus collection they used and go that route.
10 huh? Mod Organizer 2, xEdit, SKyrim Script Extender, Address Library for SKSE, SSE Display Tweaks, SSE Engine Fixes, powerofthree's tweaks, PapyrusUtil SE, RaceMenu, SkyUI. Course that really doesn't do much of anything, but gets you set up to do things. But they are things I'd consider must-haves in any modding scenario.
