The Skeleton Key
This father of all keys is amazing, it doesn't break. I am using "JS Lockpicking UI SE" and it doesn't says anything about it being unbreakable.

The thing is I am supposed to give it back but I fell in love with this beauty, and my friend told me I can keep it AND finish the mission. Is this true?

No, you can either keep it or finish the questline.
All lockpicking get super easy very fast, lockpicks are in abundance and very cheap and have no weight. So there is really no reason to choose to keep the key, over the three Nightingale powers. The invisibility power is perhaps the best in the game.

You can also invest perks in the lockpicking tree and eventually get one which makes all picks unbreakable, though you won't get the pretty model. (The unbreakable feature of the Skeleton key is vanilla, not related to the UI replacer.)

Because its unbreakable there's no need to find the right spot again thus making it quite easy, it would be fool not to take advantage of it.
True in your perspective, but the 3 powers you are giving up is unique. Picking locks is easy anyway. There is no real need for a skeleton key. I never took a single perk in the lockpick tree. Once you get the hang of it, a master lock at level 1 is no problem.

This is true. I never put any skills into the Lockpicking Tree. Never have any problem picking Master Locks.
They're not hard per se, but especially at lower levels master locks are annoying due to how often the pick snaps immediately. It's a lot faster with an unbreaking pick. Of course, by the time you can get the perk your lockpicking skill will already be high enough for that to be less of an issue and you should definitely have enough lockpicks to not care about breaking a couple.
I always follow a basic principlke of always buing all lockpicks every time I´m at a merchant. They are so cheap. Pretty soon they are 99+, i stop buying them, and lockpick is just a fun pause from combat :) Then no need for more.

And once learned in this game, it translates to the fallout games seamlessly. I sort of like it :)

I work perfectly fine with my actual skills, having the Skeleton Key is for a more comfortable
lockpicking time. What are the skills Nocturnal gives you?
Once a day: 120 seconds of invisibility, restarting at every new sneak crouch (unlike invisibility from potions or spells) / Cause every npc around to frenzy / Powerful life drain zap

You pick one oh these, but can go back and change at any time.
Cool stuff. If you have the lockpick skill down, then you really don´t need the skeleton key anyway.
