Ebony Helmets turn heads invisible.
I am at my wit's end. I've tried verifying game files. Didn't work. Removed all mods effecting ebony armor. Didn't work. Don't have any hair, eye, etc mods. Verified game files again AFTER removing mods that effect the appearance of ebony armor. IT STILL TURNS MY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HEAD INVISIBLE. If ANYONE and I mean ANYONE has a fix for this, PLEASE for the love of GOD help me. It's ONLY the Ebony Helmet, NO OTHER HELMET HAS THIS PROBLEM FOR ME and I cannot for the life of me figure out how the ♥♥♥♥ I can fix it.

It's a rare bug, which is consistent since 2014. I could not find any solutions. The helmet meshes is overlapping the face texture or something. Meaning, there's no hole in the mesh of the helmet where the face supposed to be.

But this little trick could work.
Try to install both of these mods,

That is...unbelievably annoying because I really like closed face helmets actually hiding my character's face.

And NOBODY has found a way to fix the mesh?

It's one of these things, everyone complains about. But no one ever took the effort to fix it.
I just hope, i don't get it. I'm already going bald, if i wear an iron helmet.

The ♥♥♥♥♥♥ part is, this is a recent development. My ebony helmets were fine like, two months ago.
I would use xEdit. To find the file which contains the ebony helmet. Clone it. Pack it and install it as a separate mod. And load it last.

It's lame. That it's still not fixed. Not even by Bethesda.

Does this bug happen if an unedited mesh...such as a preset...is used?
If so...could the face sculptor 'fix' it?

That's a good one, cause if meshes collide. They either end up purple or black.

Removing a mod on an existing save is not the way to check if a issue arises. To test whether a mod is causing an issue, you would either roll back to a save when the mod wasn't installed or start a test character and add the helmet via console to see if the issue is still present.

If you are using a body mod (CBBE, UNP, HIMBO, etc.) you would need to run BodyStudio to generate the meshes. If you don't, you can have this issue.

EDIT: I will add that if one is using a body mod, make sure you are using armor mods for that body type. Otherwise you could have clipping or other issues. It is still recommended to run BodyStudio to generate the meshes. If you're unsure of how to use it, there are YouTube videos on it.

for start download more informative console. then in game throw this helment on the ground click on it and see what is the mod that make a change. if not vanilla then your mod order is not correct.

I don't use any body mods. Closest thing would be the Ayleid custom race I have and this issue started well before that was installed.

Thats not how mods work. Meshes and textures dont show there.
