Good/Useful Mods Inside CC?
Are there any good mods on CC?

I know about regular mods but don't want to do that now. I have the AE content also. Just wondering if there are some good light mods inside the CC menu.

Found some for infinite sprint, getting up faster, new weapons and new designs for old ones; particularly I'm looking for one that can change the place you put your weapons (like having one-handed on your back) but I don't know how those are named and any that changes movements (animations?).

I'm not holding any hopes up. I know the good stuff is outside of CC but I saw a fair share of things there and even kept some, just got confused from the many low effort bloatware mods and wanted to know if there are any popular/must-haves.

I'm open to any recommendations, even if said recommendation is to just stick to AE content. But as I said, any little useful thing of the sort of better sprinting or fixes for gear/effects is welcomed.

Thanks in advance.

Unofficial patch? Nice, definitely a must-have to me. Thanks!

To answer your first question.

Visible Favorited Gear - Found in the CC menu places your Favorited items on the back.
Staves on Back - allows you to place Stave Magic staffs on your back when using them.
Only two I know of in the built in CC menu. I have never used these.

Unfortunately there aren't a lot of mods for male characters in the CC menu. Don't know if that matters to you but here are some of the 200 mods I use through the built in CC menu. People will tell you you can't have that many mods through the built in system but I do. Sometimes it gets buggy and the mod manager janks up the order.

I've managed to build a pretty great play through using the Bethesda system. You should be able to run these mods with mediocre hardware. I have a GTX 1070ti and a Ryzen 7 2700x with 32 gb ram. Game is on a M.2 Drive.

I got most of these mods to work on an old Dell PC from 2013 with a Quad Core Phenom, 550ti and 8GB of ram so you shouldn't have any trouble.

I put the mod name below first as it appears in the CC Menu Search in different sections. These all work on Skyrim AE.

Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch

DLC type mods that add entire new areas and quests to Skyrim:

Beyond Skyrim: Bruma - this is 4 total mods label 1/4 etc.
Midwood Isle
Moon and Star
Wyrmstooth
Northern Cardinal - Beyond the Horizon - Player home and ship for traveling around
Northern Cardinal - Midwood Isle Patch

Survival Mods - Make sure to turn off survival when you start a new game if you want to use these:

Campfire
Frostfall
Wet and Cold
iNeed

These survival mods make the environment harsh and greatly increase the games difficulty. They can also be really buggy so be aware.

Gameplay mods in the CC menu:

Dimes Quick Start - Skips the opening scene in Helgen and starts you in the player creation menu. Great for testing mods.
Dynamic Camera - Allows you to adjust the third person camera positions for each type of weapon and stationary.
Proper Aiming - A patch for Dynamic Camera to make Bows aim correctly.
Immersive Movement - Adds weight to the characters movement etc.
Wildcat Combat of Skyrim - Greatly improves AI combat and leveling.
Immersive Movement - Wildcat Patch
Summermyst Enchantments - A lot of better enchantments for the game
Apocalypse Magic - Better spells for each school of magic

Dragon Mods:

Serio's Enhanced Dragons - AI for the dragons with quests and new shouts. Dragon Hate system.

Diverse Dragons Collection - Adds about 20 different types of dragons.

Dragon Souls to Attributes - Allows you to use Dragon Souls to add Health/Magic/Stamina Attributes. Perk Points for Souls. Carry Weight for souls. Also allows you to redistribute said points from souls should you choose so.

NPC fully voiced Companions: these characters greatly improve the games immersion and are available on the cc menu.

Sofia
Inigo - Also DL the Inigo Bloodchill Manor Patch
Lucien
Bjorn
Xelzaz
JWG's Female Follower Compilation

Animations for female characters in the CC menu:

XP32 Maximum Skeleton - for animation mods
Girly Animations - Walking/Running
Girly Animations Shared - Battle Animations
Pretty Jump Animation
Head Tracking and Emotions - Character and NPC's will look at people talking to them or in the area, emotional reactions etc.
Player Blink Fix - Player Character will Blink periodically.

Character Texture Body/Face/Hair Mods on cc menu:

Vanilla Hair Remake
UNP Female Body Renewal
Beauties of Skyrim HD
Summers Custom Eyes
KS Hairdos lite
KS Hairdos Patch for XP32 Skeleton
High Poly Hair
Vanilla Hair - Salt and Wind
Lein's Realistic NPC's Male
Lein's Realistic NPC's Female
True Blood Serana V2 - Make sure to place after Lein's Realistic NPC's. Adds HD Serana Character with upgrades ;)

Texture/lighting Mods in the CC Menu:

Obsidian Weathers
Fantasia or Skyland landscape texture mods, only use one.
S.M.I.M - Static Mesh Improvement Mod
Ilinalta-realistic water
Fluffy Snow
Skyrim is Luminous
Book Covers Skyrim original
Enhanced Blood Textures
C.O.l.N.

Sound mods cc menu:

Borealis Music Redone - Norse themed music replaces Skyrim vanilla music
Sounds of Skyrim - Adds sounds to towns and wilderness

Put these two mods below at the bottom of your load order.

Immersive Gameplay Skyrim PC - Re-balances Combat to make it more realistic
Violens -A kill move Mod SE - Allows you to change kill move frequency and type for different weapons and attacks.

I put everything here in the order it should be on the mod loader. Play at your own risk. You should start with a new game. I recommend not adding any mods mid play through with the built in mod loader or you are going to have problems. I have dealt with many. Unless you are willing to spend days fixing it, I suggest you don't. Make sure you read the mods descriptions before installing them.

There are a ton of great mods in the built in CC menu. I have been able to get about 200 mods stable through that system although it can be buggy. Learn how to properly place mods in the right order, watch some youtube videos etc. Some mods will automatically place themselves at the top of the load order. DO NOT TRY TO MOVE THEM. These are esl flagged mods set to specific positions in the load order.

I also recommend you learn how to use the command system if you plan on modding because quests are going to break if you haven't already done so.

They break anyway in Skyrim Vanilla a lot even without mods.

If you want my entire list I can get it, just have to put it together.

If you have any questions let me know! Have fun!

My friend I couldn't thank you enough. I do have some questions, about the "DO NOT TRY TO MOVE THEM" most importantly, but also to check the full list.

I tried moving the ones that got up on the top of the list based on what I remember about load order from using third-party mod managers: particularly one that adds a katana for every smithing category (based on the principle that they are just new items so I never thought the mod had that ESL flag that you mention, in fact had to reopen MO2 to refresh my memory about those) and one that adds hotkeys to the d-pad, but they went back to their original place so I left them there. I'm worried about what you said though; is there going to be any problem from having moved them as I explained? Or if they are in their right place right now there shouldn't be any problems in the future? Should I reinstall everything all over again, now that I'm just starting my list on CC, to make sure it's not going to backfire later? It's just that I thought those mods had a specific position since they got back to their place, but since you said "DO NOT TRY TO MOVE THEM" I'm thinking something may be already amiss and I know modding is messy so I don't want to think I'm safe now and discover that it was a mistake indeed when I have one thousand hours invested. Idk if I'm explaining correctly; TL;DR: Your all-caps statement left me concerned.

About the mods; thank you so much for taking your time in writing that. I'd be so happy and appreciate very much if you sent me the full list though if it's too much hassle it's perfectly ok; I found out many interesting ones in what you already wrote.

If it helps I'm planning to only improve vanilla and test out the AE content since I first got it on Switch but didn't see everything; now I got it for PC after finding out about the Alternative Life mod and remembering about console commands on PC (I've always played it on console before now), the two things I need to surpass the gameplay loop that I've been through so many times and can't stand anymore; skipping the intro quest and leveling up crafting skills, respectively. I found the mentioned mod and some others like Unofficial Patch, Immersive Movement, Infinite Sprint and some others that just tweak vanilla. To better explain myself; found some mods that alter AE content but I don't want those since I haven't tested those contents in their original form first, same with houses or more items; I have a fair share of new things to discover in the AE content so for now I just want to make the experience smoother.

From the ones you mentioned I bookmarked (not downloaded yet, until you okay my first question) the Gameplay and Sounds categories plus Immersive Gameplay Skyrim PC and Player Blink Fix; saved Dragons and DLC-like (those got me a little excited even) categories for when I finish with AE content. I tell you this so you can know if there are anymore recommendations from your full list and therefore don't have to write it completely.

Oh and the Visible Favorite Gear is the kind of thing I was looking for. The best recommendation because I didn't know what keyword could I use to search for them.

Again, thank you very much.

You're welcome. There aren't many guides, if any on modding the game using the CC Menu loader. Also it's really hard to find content based on the categories due to all the scammy bloatware like you mentioned. I spent an entire play through going through and searching mods deleting, starting new games etc.

The mod list I have now is the result of that and I have been playing for the most part on this play through without to many additions.

You can try moving them around. It's not always going to be a problem but I have experienced the CC Menu Built in Mod loader crashing when rearranging the mods or adding mods on a game save. It's probably just a conflict I have with all the mods I am using desu.

The Bethesda mod loader doesn't like it when you try to load a save game with mods missing and it will attempt to fix the issue and do really weird things. It seems to work OK when you add new mods to a save file.

If you are using MO2 I don't think this would even be a problem since it has tools to prevent conflicting mods. The built in mod loader will not detect conflict it will just crash and the save may or may not become corrupt and unusable. I've even had the Skyrim application crash when attempting to rearrange the mod load order after this happens. Had to reload Skyrim and download every mod again.

Certainly MO2 is the way to go if you really want to mod. I just can't do the Novulus and Ultima type mods on my PC with my current hardware so I went with the Bethesda Mod organizer built in instead of learning the new software.

I will put together my mod list for the Bethesda CC Menu Mod loader, it may take a day or so. But I will post it here. In the order I am currently running a working game save on. You may have to complete some quests using the command prompt. Be careful with this and always save before you do that.

I have experienced problems with this mod list just so you are aware. I ran into problems when attempting to add more mods to the mod loader on a mid game save. That's really what I am recommending you do not do. Some mods are ok to add but some will break your game. It's hard to know which ones will do that. Also be VERY careful removing mods mid game with the Bethesda Mod loader. It will attempt to add them back in when you load a save or rearrange your load order breaking a lot of the installed mods.

You're right; there aren't any guides on how to use the CC menu, just recommendations about which mods are the best, but those lists are no longer than a top 15 and most mention only content present in AE. I asked in some forums and most told me to just mod the usual third-party way and some even expressed their hate against Bethesda for trying to meddle in the modders' way with CC. The thing is that I don't want to use MO2 right now after finding that the Unofficial Patch and Alternative Life is available on CC; I know there are thousands of cool things that I am missing but as I told you I'm settled for just AE content for now.

About MO2; I'm not using it nor planning to. Just mentioned since that was my first modding approach and it was there where I learned about ESLs and ESPs.

I don't have any game saved. I've been playing it on Switch until now and I'm going to wait until I have the CC mod list complete before starting my first game on PC so no problem with that.

Thank you again for your help and time. Looking forward to that list!

They break anyway in Skyrim Vanilla a lot even without mods.

Hey!

Wanted to tell you all this about the CC didn't work out too well for me.

I got great additions like the sounds and textures but bigger mods crashed the game. Not on an older save, it couldn't even let me start a new game. Don't know which one exactly but I disabled the bigger ones like body models and DLC size mods.

Still you helped me a lot; blood textures is awesome, smim looks great, visible favorites is what I was looking for and I didn't know how much I needed to replace vanilla music and sounds; it feels like my ears are getting purified with sound lol

Wanted to tell you to not bother with the full list. Still I'll take any recommendations you may want to give me (including the full list, if you want to write it anyways) but those mods I mentioned are about what I need to play for now.

I could write you the full list I'm using right now, it's only 25 mods, so you can know if there's something that I really need without going too far.

Thanks again.

No problem. If you want you can post your mod load order. I might be able to figure out why it crashed. Also if you don't mind letting me know what kind of hardware you are running? Doesn't have to be exact just the type of cpu/gpu/ram/drive. No brand names needed.

There was a recent update last week that's played havoc on a lot of peoples mods, could be related. Not sure.

Basically anytime there is an update pushed by Bethesda it crashes a lot of mods.

I'm far from my PC now, but it's a potato PC; particularly i5 7200k hd graphics 620 8 ram internal hard drive. Not planning to upgrade it or buy a new one. I'm not carrying the load order list with me.

There's one thing that I'm missing from the list you gave me; that is if Wildcat Combat and Immersive Gameplay are compatible with Vokrii Perk Mod? I'm very interested in both combat mods you recommended but not so much in a few tweaks those mods make, particularly the injuries feature from Wildcat and the perks changes from Immersive since I've been wanting to try a perk overhaul since my first attempt at modding. Wanted to ask you if you know how compatible Vokrii with either both or each one of them.

I'll post the load order list as soon as I get home. Thank you again for your help and time and I'll be reading anything you can tell me about those mods.
WolfensRazor Aug 12, 2024 @ 5:35pm
With that setup on Skyrim AE you probably won't be able to run many heavy graphic type mods but game play stuff should be fine. Also you might be able to adjust the graphics settings in the Skyrim application start pop up. Not sure what settings it's automatically choosing for you, my guess would be low settings already for that built in GPU. Skyrim Special Edition AE is a little more demanding than the original Skyrim game.

You can't run Vokrii with Immersive Gameplay as Immersive Gameplay also modifies the perk trees from the Vanilla version. This might cause something to not work. Also Immersive Gameplay completely removes some of the original skill perk trees and replaces them with something else. I don't know what would happen but I would probably just avoid it.

Wildcat combat shouldn't cause any issues with Vokrii, as Vokrii uses the same perk tree as Vanilla just modified. Wildcat combat also has a low script load so it shouldn't cause issues with your system.

I'll get you my full list, just been a little busy today.

Thank you for the clarification. Should I load Vokrii below Wildcat then? As to avoid Vokrii's features being affected by Wildcat?

Looking forward to that list. Don't worry, I'll wait.

I bookmarked Faction: Pit Fighters but didn't get much of what's it about from the available description on CC. Could you tell me a little about what it adds?

I'll check the rest of the list, thanks for the suggestions.

Basically it adds an arena to the game. It's similar to the one from oblivion. Located in windhelm.

Heavy Armory is great. Thanks for the suggestion.
