HELP! I turned down the vampire lord and STILL became a vampire!
I turned down Serana's father's "gift", and somehow became a vampire anyway. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?!?

I DON'T WANT TO BE A VAMPIRE!

Does anyone know a console command to remove the vampire thing?

Are a Vampire Lord or a Vampire? You likely got infected while going to free Serana from all the Vampires you fight getting to her. Talk to Falion in Morthal, he can cure you of Vamprisim

I'd prefer a console command. An in-game solution is likely expensive/time-consuming.

And a console command may or may not remove all the effects. Doing the actual cure (from the wizard in Morthal) is still the better way. You just need to bring him a filled black soul gem. He sells the empty ones, and even a lowly bandit gives a black soul when soul trapped.

Two ways to become a vampire. One of those two ways is ONLY via the storyline, and that's the chance to become a Vampire Lord (the kind of vampire that Serana and her parents are). That way is triggered only through dialogue. The OTHER way is through the spell Drain Life, a vampire-only spell that has a chance to give you Sanguinare Vampiris, the disease that turns you into a vampire. If that happens, the message "You have been infected with Sanguinare Vampiris" will appear in the upper-left corner of the screen, and it will also appear in the Active Effects tab of the Magic screen. If you're infected, you have three in-game days to get it cured; drinking a Cure Disease potion, eating a Hawk Feather, or visiting ANY shrine of ANY of the Divines will do that. Wait PAST three in-game days, and those methods won't work anymore; if that's the case, you have to talk to Falion about getting it cured.

I advise that you NOT use a console command. If you don't know exactly what you're typing in and exactly what you're doing, console commands can REALLY bork your game.

I have a feeling it happened in the vampire attack on Fort Dawnguard immediately after turning down the vampire lord's "gift". But I didn't see the notification or notice anything except a brief flash of red vision once (I didn't know what it meant) until it was too late.

I'll have to pay more attention in the future.

I did find a console command that seems to have done the job. I didn't want to use any console commands my first playthrough, but I was adamant about NOT being a vampire. I found it frustrating after doing everything I could to avoid it that it happened anyway.

None exists for that.

There is a console command to change races. Becoming a vampire is a race change, so that can be undone. If everything about being a vampire is because of the race change, then changing it through a console command should remove everything as well.

You can also use the console commands related to quests, as the cure for vampirism is a quest. This one would remove everything about being a vampire.

You are still usually better off just doing the quest or whatever normally instead of using console commands, but it can be done with commands.

Technically you can, however chance is that you mess up your save I mean chances are that racial abilities, etc bug out.

Is there a trick to finding the wizard? I got my filled black soul gem but now he's nowhere to be found.

Isn't he in his house?

Between 8 AM and 8 PM he should be at his house. Between 1 AM and 5 AM he is at a place north of Morthal. If he is not a home he should be at that summoning circle or walking between there and his home.

Really not recommended, extremely likely to mess things up.

Two good options exist, load a save from before it happened, or do the falion quest, you can go back to the Volkihar castle and get turned into VL again.

Whether or not it is recommended is beside the point. You claimed no such command existed. I proved you wrong with two examples.

Ok, what I meant was no command exists for simply undoing the turning into a vampire, yes you can do it with racechange, but that didn't immediately occur to me as I avoid that command anyway.
