Dragonborn's fate guide is dead now what?
so since the guide is dead and modding skyrim is worse then leaning to code and making the game from scratch now what version of the game do I need to be able to mod and have no BS effecting everything?

Only if you want to use mods that never got updates to run with later versions, are a good reason to use older versions when starting from scratch.
Checking over 300 mods and dependence for versions would take way to much time was there not a list of The mods that never got updated or was that Ironically also not updated?
You can take a look at Nexus' page on SKSE plugin status. That's the best what we have for that problem.

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

You decided to have 300 mods but you want us to deal with the overload? They are your mods - you check.

there are now 4 "current versions" of skyrim that people mod for when even the most Knowledgeable modders Give up making a simple guide to get the base setup working you know its a mess Its not 2011 anymore I don't have time to mod the game and test every cell, npc, town, weapon etc for a small conflict I just want to install my mods on a Version that they work on since CC is trash and just breaks the balance and pacing of the game anyways might aswel downgrade back to 1.5.9.

Secondly did I ask you to check all of my mods - No so why you comment just to be a d:huntcrosses:ckhead?

Then the latest version will be just fine unless you want a niche dead mod like Party Combat Parameters. Downgrading, I wouldn't recommend unless you really know what you are doing. Nearly every SKSE derived mod is either now updated or has a newer alternative. Any mod that is not SKSE derived, which is the vast majority never needed an updated as they work with ALL versions of the game.

If you really want a simple download experience perhaps collections are the way to go for you.

So you had 300 mods and didn't have the foresight to protect your game from updates?

WTF

Modding Skyrim is easy
Learning to Code is hard
Making a game from scratch is near impossible unless you have a great team and funding.

But if you disagree go learn to code and make a game from scratch, go on, prove me wrong by making a great game... I dare You....

"Modding Skyrim is easy" - 4 active Versions that are modded for and a bunch of mods that have to be removed or replaced depending on versions

Next time should I post the obviously sarcastic comment in the Spongebob meme font?

Thanks for this it has been very helpful, back down to 1.5.9 it seems I must go for custom skill trees

Listen pack or not you downloaded 300 mods, but can't troubleshoot and now you expect us to troubleshoot for you .... not how this works maybe delete the whole thing and start with another pack .... however if you don't know the BASICS you'll need help with every small problem

4 active versions???
Oldrim, SE (aka pre1.6), AE (1.6+)......

And yes it is easy, if you check which version the mod is for, then prevent updates (several methods exist). At least compared to modding for some games, which require you to edit game files before installing mods, and don't have dedicated Mod Managers (MO2 for example)
