Considering a change from Finis to Nemesis
I am a long time player who is returning to Skyrim SE after about 2 years off. I have been using Finis for a long time now and am starting to have trouble with it after updating to Skyrim AE. My game is heavily modded, using FINIS, and I'm using Vortex as my mod manager. Most of my older R/X rated mods will no longer work correctly and, and after trying for weeks, I still can't figure out why.

After reading about alternatives, I'm considering replacing FINIS with Nemesis. I don't want to blindly go into this change only to find it to be a lot of work and headaches without any benefits. Any advice and/or help would be greatly appreciated.

The main benefit is that many new mods require Nemesis and will not work with FNIS, while older FNIS mods will work with Nemesis.

But if all you have are the older FNIS mods, and do not have any requiring Nemesis, there is no reason to switch.

Or consider to use Pandora Behaviour Engine. It's in active development as opposed to FNIS and Nemesis, and also backwards compatible with both.

just clone your install first; drive space is basically free by comparison to the hours of effort, the work involved, in a massive rebuild of a "heavily modded" Skyrim...

there's nothing that prevents you from having even a dozen Skyrims in parallel, multiple versions, multiple anim systems, etc. all separated and isolated. just need space on your SSDs. In MO2 it's trivial, I'm not a Vortex user, but I would assume it's no more effort in one vs the other. !'ll never give up some of my 640s, no matter what SE/AE becomes, because some things are just too much fun til there's replacements (that may never come) and some were such a pain to get working well with everything else. (like MCO-DXP)

what is "starting to have trouble" anyway? Fores behaviours is more a registration helper than anything; hkx are hkx after all. When you say R/X you mean that as ranking, as in "rated R / rated X" just say "adult" dude. :KissAss: if it's too porn-y for this discussion, you know what discussion site to take it to.

Pandora is amazing. I was still using FNIS because I was stubborn and heard Nemesis never really got finished. Recently I tried Pandora and... Impressed would be an understatement.

It just works. Everything I've thrown at it. None of the crashing issues from Nemesis, but full support for it. Processes way faster and in a more consistent manner than FNIS... It's just awesome full stop.
