This mod is a simple and lightweight; there is only differences in textures.

This mod is really big and introduces much more changes than only mage robes. It has quite a chain of mod dependencies you have to install in order to use this mod.

If the level of dependencies is overwhelming, maybe you can use this mod, one that is an extraction of the above big mod; https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/127092
There are certainly more mods that gives you a variety in mage apparel. Simply explore that site.
PS: if you aren't familiar with modding, you can start with the first link. There are some guides on the internet (incl the stickied thread in the discussion section) that may learn you how to mod this game.
Destruction = Red
Conjuration = Purple
Alteration = Green
Restoration = Yellow
Illusion = Blue
It also has versions for each level (Novice, Adept, etc) that aren’t school aligned and have their own color palette and general magic-boosting enchantments.
It even makes the hood its own clothing item so you can wear the robes without being hooded (or wear the hood with something else on your body). Each level has its own hood with slight stylistic variations and come in normal and fur-lined versions. No school-aligned hoods that use the associated color though.
Despite what xybolt said, there isn’t a “chain of requirements” for ACE.
You would need three mods: Rustic Clothing, WACCF, and the Unofficial Patch (for WACCF). Sound Distributor is only needed if you’re using Immersive Sounds Compendium.
You should already be using Rustic Clothing as it’s still the best vanilla clothing retexture out there (until Xavbio drops his planned clothing retexture), and while I’m not familiar with the mod list you’re using I’d say there’s a good chance that the Unofficial Patch is probably already in there as many consider it a necessity.
WACCF may be the only thing that could throw things off.
WACCF makes various changes to the stats, crafting requirements, and other values of vanilla weapons, armor, clothing, and clutter items.
For example, WACCF makes Daedric gear better than Dragonbone/scale whereas in the vanilla game Dragonbone/scale is the strongest gear you can get.
Because of the changes and alterations it makes, mods that also mess around with the values of all these things or expand existing sets with new items (like the Heavy or Animated Armory series) require a WACCF patch.
Again, I don’t know what mods are included in this mod list you use but you may have to track down and install various patches for WACCF. There is a WACCF patch collection mod but I don’t think it covers everything (but certainly most of the bigger, more popular, a commonly used mods that require a patch).
Although it's colour coded to the schools involved, so you may find the colour you want is assigned to a combination of schools you don't want/use....
