Shriekwind Bastion Word Wall Bug SOLUTION
I just wanted to create this post in hopes that it helps somebody eventually. The Word Wall in Shriekwind Bastion is bugged, and will almost definitely result in the game having major problems after you acquire the Elemental Fury shout word. The symptom that I had was the game slowed down to a crawl and the music was skipping like a broke record.
So, here's the solution. You need to use Console Commands to fix it.
The very first thing you need to do is Revert to a previous Save just before you finished the quest and got the Word of Elemental Fury. If you have to battle the final boss again, I'm really sorry, but the following solution only works if you HAVEN'T already acquired the new word from the wall and finished the quest.
Hit the tilde button, "~" on the top left of your keyboard just below the ESC button. Then type "SetStage WICastMagic04 200" and hit Enter (this completes the quest (that's w i, not w 1)). Then type "player.teachword 3291D and hit Enter" (this teaches you the first word of Elemental Fury, assuming you don't already have the it already). If you already have the first word, type "player.teachword 3291E". If by some slim chance you already have the first two words, type "player.teachword 3291F".
After all of this is done, DO NOT go to the Word Wall. Ignore it. Your quest will be complete and you will have acquired the Word of Elemental Fury that you would have gotten as if you did go to the Word Wall.
That's it. Enjoy.

Most people just use TCL to get to the word inside the word wall.

I think you misunderstood what I said. You can get the word the normal way, by walking up to the wall and getting it, but doing that bugs out the game.

I wonder if one of the past updates broke it, because if you Google the issue there are people reporting the same thing years ago. I noticed it once I got the word from the word wall, took the exit door to skyrim right next to the wall, where you head out onto the balcony, and as soon as you re-enter the dungeon it all falls apart.

If this were common, it would have been reported and noted in the wiki's. Since it is not, I think it may be due to either a mod issue or, if there are no mods, can corrected with a file verification.

After completely clearing the dungeon once again, NO ISSUE at all except the expected navmesh problems for followers when going up in this big barrow.
I did travel a lot after completing this dungeon, mainly for selling goods.

I'm NOT using the unofficiall patch but i am using like 20 mods.

only thing that would slow the game down is if you are trying to play above the game engines fps limit and a trigger to stop a certain effect didn't time up with the game engines ticks.

cap your fps at 60 like you're supposed to and you won't have the issue, or get the fps fix mod to play at higher fps, either way this isn't a legit bug if you play the game with the proper settings.
never heard of this bug
never had an issue on multiple pc's with different versions of windows

Never had that issue, I know sometimes it can refuse to give the word, but never that it bugs out the game.

I do use the Unofficial patch, and about 10 other mods.

My frame rate is capped at 60fps in the Nvidia control panel for this game.

You're very fortunate. A quick Google search will reveal that I'm not the only one who has experienced this bug. I guess I drew the short straw. EDIT - add the word "Reddit" to your Google search and that will produce the most results.
