ZAZ animations simply won’t play?
For whatever reason, ZAZ animations don’t play. I can tell they are happening, because I can’t move whenever they start. But my character doesn’t actually do the animation. They just stand there. Any idea what’s causing this? I’ve run FNIS multiple times, not seeing any errors there. I’m at my wits end, everything looks okay but just doesn’t work. My head hurts.

Could be multiply things. Like, SL (or what every you are using that supports ZAZ) haven't read and registered animations correctly, or just doesn't find any tags to load.

Could be wrong resource priority, overwritten support file etc.

I would check those first.

I had to do some googling. It seems that the mod comes with a bunch of json files and a set of hkx files. Those json are referring to the hkx files. Those hkx files are to be used by FNIS. And some meshes/textures for furnitures, supported by a plugin.

Since you have said that FNIS has been executed multiple times, I guess the animation aren't "known" the game. I saw that SL uses SLAL to load in json files. I guess you have to get SLAL and have SL load these files? That explains those dependencies where one of it is to be able to read json files.

The description of SLAL mod is very clear on that matter. I've quoted it
It reads information about the animations from Data\\SLAnims\\json\\ This makes it possible to add new animations without needing to edit any mods or do any scripting.
I would say you are missing a support mod and some importing?

I think it might be that actually. I got SLAL, and it's saying there's no animations to register. I'm genuinely lost, I have no clue what could be wrong.

Go to LoversLab. Ya know, where ya got the mod. I really don’t know why you’re posting this here instead of the actual support forum.

There are no issues with FNIS. Just users, who install it in to wrong location, or ignore managing the data, despite of description page telling them otherwise.

That said, FNIS is indeed getting old. I have also moved to more recent solutions. Fore did one heck of a work with the long code, but no one is managing new features to it, after old man retired.

I don't see the issue's with Nemesis... Auto creates a dummy FNIS plugin, so you don't have to worry about that, and the actual process is simple.

Update Engine.
Run Nemesis.
Close Nemesis.
Deploy mods.
Profit?

If it fails to find behaviour files, just run it again, but that's only ever happened to me on first install. Running again solves it.

One day i'll take a look at Pandora, as it's been mentioned a number of times now, but im in no rush as Nemesis is simple and does what i ask it to.

If you need FNIS resources with Nemesis, then you can just install it and remove the plugin. Nemesis actually reads the FNIS resource folder. It doesn't usually even need the dummy file, if resources are read correctly.

I'm trying to use Nemesis, but it keeps crashing upon trying to do anything. Pressing "update engine" makes it go to 2% for a sec, before just closing.

And are my mods supposed to show up in Nemesis' browser? Because they aren't.

The slider box at the top? Not all, no. Tick the ones you DO have that show up there, like Retimed Hit Frames or True Directional Movement if you use those, but you'll have a few that won't be in that list.

How did you install Nemesis? And where is your game installed? (Just me trying to eliminate all bases as potential causes.)

If Update Engine is only getting to 2%, something's blocking it from working.

It comes back to the above questions. if you installed the game in Program Files, Windows has a tight grip on that folder, and blocks a lot of things from being done.

Nemesis needs to be manually installed to the game's data folder to work correctly, then add the .exe to your mod manager.

I just install it with Vortex like any other mod. Never had an issue with doing it that way.
Adding to the Tools section of the Dashboard makes it easy to access.

You don't need to install it manually, with Vortex atleast. I don't know how MO2 handles it.

Just as well as Vortex does. I have just installed Nemesis and resource folders through MO2.

The "problem" with MO2 is that people do not know how to properly use executables with them. You can install modlike tools like FNIS, Nemesis, BodySlide (etc.) through MO2 normally, but adding executable to list needs an extra step.

Executable must be added from RIGHT hand panel DATA tab, where installed folders open as tree. Right click the application and select "Add as executable..."

This will include the executable in to MO2 application list with a correct path. No need to fiddle with manual installs at all.

Actual tools (xEdit, CK, xSE etc.) are of course another matter. Those are added directly from application menu, or already appear in the list after installing them.

It was installed into program files originally, yeah, but I moved it to the games folder in my documents after hearing Windows system folders could cause problems.

As for Nemesis, I installed it manually. Into the data folder.
