They Never Fixed This?
I play the game without mods, I love the game how it is. So, my problem most times I play is that I have a hard time selling items because everyone is broke. Doesn't matter that you have a lot of stuff to sell or that you have expensive things to sell. If there is no one with money around to buy them what is the point? If this game gets patched up in the future which I highly doubt it will, please fix this. Allow us to sell everything we got. At least have sells man with a set limit of 2000 gold. Some items I want to sell cost 1500 alone. I don't see why every sells man has to have a limit of 750.

Vendors inventory resets every 3 game days, in whiterun there are 5 vendors you can sell too

They could just reduce value for sold goods. It's much to easy to get gold.

But you can invest in Traders and Khajiit will get 4k Gold later. (Thief guild quest)
Sometimes i like to buy ore and ingots to build hauses and craft stuff, then they have some money again ^^

Vanilla game is unbalanced and buggy.

And your question has been asked before by other non-mod users. And there are interesting vanilla exploits you can leverage.
e.g., see these threads:
https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrim/comments/2uvm8a/what_merchant_has_the_most_gold_or_is_there_a_way/
https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrim/comments/okiuh6/if_you_save_hit_a_merchant_then_load_they_will/

* At the end of the thieves guild storyline, you can get up to 4 or 5 fences that have (IIRC) 4000 gold each, and will buy any stolen goods off of you. And they also have a lot of damn good loot that you can just steal right off the shelf, and they can't say ♥♥♥♥.
* If you just want to sell everything, you can continually fast travel between Riften and Markarth. The stores reset in the time it takes to return, so you could unload everything in a few trips.
* if you don't want to wait 48 hours in game to reset a vendor's inventory, then do the save-punch-reload trick. First do a normal save when facing the merchant, then hit the merchant, then reload the save, and you'll find the merchant's goods and cash will be restock/reset. Make sure that the merchant become aggressive after you hit him/her. Some NPCs need more than one hit to start fighting back.
* use the console command "additem 0f 1000" to add 1000 gold/septims to the NPC/merchant you console-clicked/selected. Useful to give some gold to followers too.
* By the way, NFF mod allows followers to sell yours or their junk loot (they'll disappear for a while, seemingly off to nearest town to sell the given loot, and then return and add the gold to your kitty). Very useful feature, if you like looting every corpse, but don't like to be overencumbered or cheat with the carryweight limit or be bothered to hold and later sell junk to merchants next time you visit a settlement.

For a permanent fix, if you are on PC, then try the Merchant Gold Upgrade[www.nexusmods.com] mod thats ups the merchant gold limit to a whopping 200,000 gold!

Level Speech, invest in every shop in Whiterun, bam, every shop has more gold now.

If you have a lot of money, you can repeatedly buy/sell a high value item to level Speech fast. Even if the transaction is for 0 Gold, you still earn XP.

Buy stuff you need from merchants before selling, like Ingots from blacksmiths, Soul Gems from court wizards.

The merchant in the first settlement on Solstheim has a lot of gold right off the bat too.

every time I finish a mission I have to sit there jumping from vendor to vendor skipping time just to empty my pockets. I am dead rich right now. It's just cleaning your inventory without throwing things around or storing it it's impossible.

yes

There are three options as each of the others have stated:
1. Invest in the Speech skill until you can begin investing in each of the merchants doubling the gold they carry.
2. Use a mod to overhaul the vendors, or one that simply adds gold/removes limits.
3. Use the console and give them more gold. Open the console, select the vendor, and type:
additem f 4000
Any more than that with the base vendor system can cause issues.

The choice is yours.

Honestly, the easy fix to this is don't pick up as much junk. 99% of the items in the game are more or less junk, and you won't miss them if you don't grab them.

Besides Soulgems and potions, there really isn't much thats worth picking up after a certain point. Outside of unique quest rewards, about the only thing of note are the few enchants you don't have learned and a handful that are useful to your build that rolled higher than what you can currently make.

I know its hard, but you gotta learn to fight your hoarding instincts in games like this unless you really enjoy fighting the enemy known as Inventory Management. Even with picking up very few items, you will still end up with more gold than you really need.

best way to deal with limited store money is sell to vendors that are also trainers
Arthmoor Jun 29, 2024 @ 8:50pm
To "fix" it implies it wasn't intentional for vendors to have low gold amounts and only reset every 3 days.

That said, most vendors in a vanilla game have more than 750 gold, not less. You just need to find the right ones.
You can quick save, then punch the vendor, and reload, it will reset their inventory and money.

Mods such as Bag of Trash (sell loot instantly at a customizable discount), Portable Mimic Item Recycler (smelt loot instantly), and NFF's Followers Can Sell Loot feature, are very useful things to tackle the loot overload problem of Skyrim.

NFF also has another nifty feature : it gives Player Additional Storage and Follower Additional Storage, so you can dump all unnecessary loot into those insta-storage boxes (accessible via hotkeys), and decide what to do with them later.

Apparently you don't like the game how it is because you don't like how little gold the vendors have in the non modded version. There is a perk in speech which can increase the gold, but it's still not much. Other than that you'll need to mod if it bothers you too much.

Like in real world, not everyone has ability to purchase something expensive from you. There are dedicated vendors for this.

Even in a vanilla game, I did not have lots of troubles to sell my junk.
