Best Companion roleplay companions?

What is in your opinion, the best companion? This doesn't just include stats because that's boring and we all know which ones scale and which ones don't. I've been trying to roleplay a lot more rather than metagame so I wanted to hear some opinions.

Modded companions.

Inigo and Lucien are both great and have interactions between themselves. And there’s a literal ton of modded companions on nexus and while quality can be variable, are generally better than the vanilla followers.

It depends on your character, who they are and what they are doing.

You might have a warrior, who wants to travel with his fellow warriors so he uses members of the Companions,
A college student might want to have and adventure with their classmates.
If an assassin ever decided to travel with somebody, might as well be another assassin.

If you want to try something a bit different than the usual popular modded companions, then try: Selene Kate Follower or Serana Replacer SSE - MCM[www.nexusmods.com]

Selene Kate (yeah THAT 'Selene' Kate, i.e., this modded follower is a replica of actress Kate Beckinsale of Underworld movies fame, as the beautiful but deadly vampire-huntress Selene) is the sweet deal if you get this mod.

* Selene Kate can heal you, dance with you, even kiss you if you are lucky enough to marry her.
* As a loyal obedient follower, Selene Kate can make camp, collect ingredients, call your horse and hers, relax (rest, read a book, etc.) and sandbox (cook, enchant, etc.), or guard a designated place. She can easily stay in 30 homes or taverns as her default home.
* Selene Kate has enhanced combat AI (especially powerful spells like 360 degree Mass Force which can throw enemies as her emergency measure to protect the player and allies), Player character can learn her spells & perks (her AuraBlade perk is especially useful for melee fighters who need the extra oomph to their power attacks, without relying on spellcasting).
* Selene Kate can do wind-walking so she can catch up faster to the sprinting player character.
* You can not only customize her outfit but also her hairstyles/colors and eyes (via in-game MCM), and you can summon or remote control her (teleport, summon, blast, etc.) anytime with a customizable hotkey (to invoke her Selene's Soul). She comes with some seductive outfits of her own, but she goes well with other form-fitting armors (for a vanillaish armor, try the Heavy Girls Armor mod. Witcher3 female armors also are apt for her. Selene Kate and Yennefer mods are stunning sirens to distract even a serious Skyrim adventurer.)
* She has custom dialogues, and Face Light for showing a better face in darkness.
* She has 4 extra inventories (so she's happy to carry your burdens)
* No need of any additional body mesh, textures, etc., this mod is completely standalone.

For roleplay, I am currently doing a Witcher playthrough.

So I am roleplaying as Geralt the Witcher (thanks to the playable witcher race, having witcher abilities, signs, outfit and swords - NexusMods site has separate mods for each of these features, but I use the Creation Club creation that gives all these features under a playable witcher race).

I have the sexy-but-deadly Yennefer of Vengerberg[www.nexusmods.com] as my wife, clever-and-competent Ciri[www.nexusmods.com] as my adopted daughter, trustworthy-but-unpredictable Triss the Sorceress[www.nexusmods.com] as my dear friend.

I have the magnificent Crystalwind Estate[www.nexusmods.com] as my own estate (because a witcher with decades of experience and having done favors to kings/jarls, shouldn't be a pauper), and its sprawling beautiful grounds (with mansions, cottages, waterfalls, lake, bridges, etc.) are populated with ghost guards and deadly-but-friendly creatures (snowmother, spriggan, dragon, flame atronach, werebear, etc. - Anna Fantasy Followers mod and Warren the Wearbear mod).

Not only have I become the Thane of several holds, but I have powerful allies, such as the Selene Kate[www.nexusmods.com], Tauriel the Wood Elf[www.nexusmods.com] and Orcs of Dol Khazun - Mountain Stronghold[www.nexusmods.com].

My adventures in Skyrim continue, But with such amazing family and friends, there's never a dull uneventful cold day in vast Skyrim.

You could try Xelzaz Custom Fully Voiced Argonian Telvanni Follower, Remiel - Custom Voiced Dwemer Specialist and Companion and Redcap (as part of a threesome rather than simply alone). Xelzaz and Remiel account for a wide array of player customization as well as acknowledging character choices to the point of holding the choices in memory, altering future interactions (this goes further if one takes Remiel along when playing through the Beyond Reach mod before doing Namira's quest).
Better yet, while they may question the wisdom of the Dragonborn's actions that come about as a result of quest railroading, they never outright break the Fourth Wall (or even tap on it aggressively) like some other fully voiced followers play around with.
