Upgrading Skyrim woes - Requiem not starting
I decided to move my Skyrim from my C drive (80GB free) to my f drive (8000GB free), and upgrade to the latest Skyrim in the process; I had not upgraded Skyrim for years. In my old configuration I have had requiem 5.4.4 running for some time with no problems, this should give me the opportunity to upgrade to requiem 5.4.5; Is this the final requiem release?

Anyway I upgrade to Skyrim Special edition 1.6.1170, and all my mods to the latest version. Was rather confused as a in a lot of places 1.6.1.1170 is assumed to be the Anniversary edition. For example https://skse.silverlock.org/ , anyway I assumed the version number is more important than the label.

**Problems**

When I run my newly upgraded Skyrim three problems emerge.

1) When I start up Skyrim there is a warning about the engine fixes mod not finding a .dll and stopping.

2) When loading a game A message says SkyUI and SKSE are not working together. Then SkyUI works but very slowly, then crashes to desktop when opening closing.

3) Requiem won't start. The message to open and close the magic/inventory keeps recurring, but requiem does not start properly. The requiem perks seem there though.

**Solutions**

1) I came up with two solutions. First I disabled SEE Engine fixes, it got rid of the scary start up message. Also SkyUI has not crashed since I disabled the engine fixes, not sure if that is just coincidence or not?! Still I guess that means I don't have the SEE engine fixes; Oh Well! Needs must.

However SKyUI is still really slow. I found it worrying that all UI mods seem to be based on SkyUI that is an abandoned mod from almost 10 years ago!

2) I also noticed Survival mode, which I had not seen before. I decided to give it a try with the improved survival mode mod; in place of requiem which I still can't get to work.

Survival mode gives some arguably immersive micromanagement tasks. Munching an apple every so often, being aware of where the beds are and not skinny dipping around Winterhold. Although I miss the requiem combat mechanics I considered it an improvement on the vanilla game.

**Remaining issue**

Anyway for when I get fed up with trying out Survival mode and want to get back to requiem does anyone have an idea on how it can be fixed, so that opening and closing the inventory in a new game actually starts up Requiem properly?

Thanks for the help guys but you can all relax I think I have it sorted.

I set myself up with Constellations https://next.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/collections/9zfscf , worked fist time with no fuss, except that I installed version 74 just as they were uploading the new 75 version. Urgh!.

Anyway strongly suspect my issues were due to not downgrading my Skyrim to 1.6.640.0, as that is the first thing Contellation did.

You don’t need to disable SSE engine fixes, making some modifications to the TOML file will get it working, there’s even mods on the nexus which will overwrite it for you.

There’s patch mods for sky ui. And also, sky UI is the mod that adds the MCM menus, which are basically a must for configuring mods in game. And a malfunctioning SSE engine fixes can’t be good.
