I know I had to make an account for something when I got my stuff loaded in game for AE but I don't know if its the same for you.
You probably do

The AE upgrade is essentially an AIO for the CC content so if you want use the AE stuff you'll need a bethesda acct for CC and Mods

Weird that you guys needed an account. I have never touched creation club before and I certainly did not need an account. Only thing that happened to me was a mandatory download process once I was in the main menu, that was it.

I think it changed i remember needing to manually register and login beth account to access and manage CC stuff.

But now it seems to log me in automatically after a complete wipe and reinstall so i guess it just needs owning the game on Steam now?

I guess so. Didn't creation club require points or something to buy them individually? If everything is now in a bundle, and that you buy it through Steam, then I can only assume that the required account is not needed anymore because the account was there to add those points?

If you have linked your bethesda account it's going to log you in automatically.

So if you linked it for any game or reason, all bethesda games will log you in on start up.

And yes you had to link them for purchasing credits, and for some bonuses (including the free offers)

I seen before people on Fo4 forums claiming that they never made Beth account at all and they still could freely access CC and game logged them in as if they had one.

I cant test if its true cause i made a linked Beth acc very long time ago.

I've seen people claim the world is flat too.

They likely had created an account and linked it a while back. Possibly for Skyrim and not realize it affects all games with the beth.net link.

In fact I know of one that had done the linking to access beth.net mods and forgot about it.

A lot of people forget that the bethesda.net mod hub exists, and that to use it they had to create a login and link it.

Ah ok, I do have DOOM installed with a Bethesda account, so my Steam account could've gotten linked through that? Make sense.

You need a Bethesda.net account to browse and buy Creation Club content. I don't know if an account is required for the free Creation Club content that came with the Anniversary update.

You probably do though.

No, you don't. Not for the free stuff. My firewall rules outright block Skyrim from accessing the internet, I definitely don't have a Bethesda account, as I've been actively avoiding buying things that require it, and the free content works fine.

Don't know about the AE DLC.

Yes, any time you link a bethesda account to a game on steam it's now linked for all bethesda published games on steam
