Skyrim: obtain juvenile mudcrab
I got the mudcrab for the new fishing quest, and now it's no longer in my inventory (maybe I dropped or consumed it?) and now I can't continue the quest. I went back to the spot it tells you to get one, and the arrow is still there, but no mudcrab. I don't know what to do

Try waiting or sleeping for a day or two. Then go back and see if anything respawned.

Probably a week has passed and it hasn't respawned

You can fish them with the fishing pole. I have a lot from fishing.

I got some from the river that runs under Windhelm at the snow surrounded pond like place that is at the top of the river above a windmill. I got some at other fishing places as well.

lol quality paid content from folks at Bethesda. Maybe free version of mod on nexus (likely predates CC one anyways) that actually works? xD

I've caught so many of those suckers. Good to know it's part of a quest.

You catch them anywhere.

You know that bridge in Riverwood which you cross to go to Bleak Falls Barrow? As soon as you cross that bridge to go to Bleak Falls Barrow, turn left and go along the riverbank just a short way. There is usually an adult mudcrab and a juvenile mudcrab right there.

I just picked up a second one on the beach up north. You don't even have to fish for one.
