The SKSE team has been busy working on it since they got an early version of the Anniversary Edition from Bethsoft. Then we can patch some of the bugs that are still in the game ten years later. Long live all the modders who contributed to the Unofficial Patch.
Rebuilding SKSE from scratch this time, though, will take longer than the usual fix when Bethsoft broke the code by including another horse armor. It is not a matter of hours this time, more likely it might take weeks. Bethsoft decided to switch to another compiler generation. That would have been necessary anyway some time down the road, so they decided to do it for the Anniversary Edition.
Those modders whose mods contain native code are currently changing their mods to adapt their mods to the new Skyrim software. If you have a long mod list do not bet that all mods will be updated. Some modders will have moved on.
I am not bashing developers here. When you write software that simulates a world, some components will not work well with others. Every dev who ever contributed to a huge body of software can sing this song. And each fix can have disastrous side effects on unexpected components. Ask the poor guys and gals who worked on Fallout 76.
Read the sticky post in the mod page. The author who adopted the mod and developed the most recent version will not update it and the original author has quit modding.
This has little to do with SKSE. SSE Engine fixes is a SKSE plugin. The plugin manager in SKSE proper will probably eventually be updated to work with the current SE but the plugins themselves? It is a hit-and-miss proposition. Mostly miss.
So is there another mod that can enable achievements?
