Saves don't load after latest update (11.11.2021)

So, I just did the update for Skyrim SE and all my savepoints are broken. I get the loading screen then all is black and the game is unresponsive.

I tried changing video settings from ultra to lower, I tried changing screen refresh rate, as 144hz is still not supported in 2021, I tried changing from fullscreen to windowed/borderless, but the save won't load anymore. Neither older savepoints. So, another 97 hours wasted.

Is there a fix for this or should I consider my save fully corrupted and let myself captured once again by the Imperials to behead me?

I have the same issue. Even if I create a new game and then load that new game it still just gives me the black screen. Can't play the game at all :/

Their servers are probably overloaded due to the amount of people downloading AE. As for the saves, on steam properties mine still says they're there but also can't load them in-game. I'd advise you to NOT use steam cloud save for Skyrim saves, and use a mod manager to have local saves. Even if you're playing vanilla.

But that defeats the purpose of having Steam Cloud save... I mean, I want to be able to play on my desktop and on my laptop when I'm not near the 1st one... oh well... i'll wait a little longer and maybe later it will work.

Just on a hunch, try starting a new game, getting to the part where it asks you to create your character and then load one of your saves. I'd test it my self but I've not updated and won't for time being.

Damn, I was hoping it would. Based the idea off of an issue I have every once in awhile with New Vegas that is fixed with that method.

Knowing them it could be that they asked steam to remove that option so their paid mod nonsense is pushed on you.

Reinstalled the game and removed all mods. Works now.

I play vanilla, so no mods... reinstalled, still not working. It passes loading screen then I hear the enchantment on the items, but black screen, then Skyrim get unresponsive. So reinstalling doesn't work either.

The issue is very weird for me. I just re applied all my mods 1 by 1 and it works fine now I can load my new game with or without mods no problem, but if I try to load any of the older saves (with the same mods or no mods at all applied) I get the infinite black screen. I have no idea whats going on honestly.
