I don't use mounts

Anyone else here who doesn't use horses at all? The horse combat is ass, and you encounter enemies like every 30 seconds, so I never even bother to use mounts.

I dont use mounts except in oblivion because it makes the camera first person and it looks cool and i dont in morrowind becuase it costs money

Using Convenient Horses mod and they are invaluable. Gallop faster than Shadowmere, carry 1200 pounds, and you can use a 2-handed weapon for extreme reach.

Mounts are terrible in most games that feature them. Possibly only Metal Gear Solid 5 has adequate horse gameplay to make it worth using them. If Torrent was not helpful for evading enemies or reaching places that the Tarnished can not reach on their own, I would count Elden Ring's mount as being horrible, as well rather than tolerable. The reliance on the mount might be one of the things that keeps pushing me back away from the game (besides all of the waiting for long enemy attack strings to conclude as a substitution for challenge).

I wonder if it is possible to mod the horse combat in Skyrim to come anywhere close to the game whose horse combat is the gold standard for fantasy games, Shadow of the Colossus.

Install Odin and use the Leaguestep spell to sprint faster, or the Kyrkrim mount with Frost Cloak.

I don't use mounts either and yes I had convenient horses in oldrim I use LOTD and a mod that alters the steed stone so the guild masters amulet combined with the steed stone and I'm just as fast if not faster
