Bow of Shadows

I didn't have any problem with the bow until recently, like the invisibility thing just stopped working for me, now it just works (but only sometimes) when I take off/on my helmet, currently I use the ebony helmet but I've tried with other helmets too and it still doesn't work. Is there any way to fix this? I've tried searching on Google for it but I didn't find anything, and no, my previous saves are like 5 or more levels a part so I don't want to go back several levels after I got this far(almost 50 level currently).

Okay ... first to try is reload your old saves anyways and see if the effect works as that will determine whether you have a mod conflict or if the script simply broke.


And if the script broke ... then reloading is pretty much your best option, thar or find a different weapon.

I don't use any mods, only vanilla gameplay and the CC stuff.
So no way of fixing it? As I said I don't want to go to older saves, plus I deleted them cause I read somewhere yesterday that it might be because of them because there were too many.

Never delete your saves ... if you start getting loading lag simply back them up to a different folder instead.


Also whoever told you that should be put into the "ignore because they are stupid" list.


As for whether it's fixable ... well at this point your save has cancer anyways (and WILL finish corrupting at some point) so I'd start by seeing if spawning a second bow works, and if that doesn't then look into exactly how the power is scripted and fiddle with the console on that.

However ... MAKE A HARDSAVE AND NEVER DELETE IT before attempting to mess with the console outside of the simplest of commands.

unlucky for me then, I know I can use another bow but the thing is this one makes me invisible cause of the enchantment and it was really useful, but whatever, just skyrim things i guess, thanks anyway.

yes things are buggy in long run. best alternative for this fix is like i did for shadow warrior invisibility spell. thing is that in vanilla you get only 1sec effect in sneak when enemy is near. so i increase it to 6sec. myself. so its behave the same way as bow. if you have sseedit you can load skyrim and under the spell find id 26d79 or put that in search window to find it quick. then increase from silly 1sec to your desire value and make yourself a new patch. and just works.

personally, I make two saves per character and then alternate saving over each one. The auto saves are helpful outside of that. I might make a third save before a major decision or a buggy quest.

ok i just remember that there is unoffical cc patch on nexus. just make sure if you download a file to download the whole thing or if you got picker version by darkfox ( where you can pick individual content you want ). there is a bugs in script and keywords also in quick shot perk if you look in changelog for that bow.
