flickering lights inside buildings
hello guys,
I recently started a new game and once I entered the first couple of buildings I noticed that I got a flickering or a light sources turn off and on when I turn around with my character.

I really have no idea why that is, I'm using Lux Via, Lux, Lux Orbis, Paraphernalia - Ambience and the Picta Realis ENB which should all work nice together according to their authors.
Also followed the correct load order for all of these mods..

any ideas?

Even though the mod author for Paraphernalia indicated that it makes no edits to cells and that it should function with Lux, I'm questioning the description where it talks about realistic torch and candle flicker.

Could be one of them conflicting with one of your other mods... or they are in the wrong order in relation to other mods.

Well picta realis was built around Lux mods, thats what he says.
The author of Ambience also uses all Lux mods.

Thats where I get confused, on the paper it should work.

I followed GGUNITs LO for Lux mods.
Via/Orbis then Lux and all their patches, after that Ambience with Lux patch and very last Picta Realis.
It's the LO given by each author, its really frustrating
Yes it will be.
But what you are describing is usually the lighting mods or any shading mods (which you would think is the same thing...)
And the main point is other mods can change things, the load order is the whole load order, not just the bit people think might be relevant.

well that sucks..

I just read a bug report on the Lux page where GGUNIT hints to that ENB Light could also be an indicator for the flickering.
Maybe I'll try and disable ENB light

Oh my god, brother that was it!
the flickering is gone, I went to multiple houses now, it was really this mod.

You saved me a lot of nervous! Thanks!

Glad to help. It's too bad it doesn't want to cooperate, it looks like the author has done some good work. Hopefully this can be corrected since they seem to be actively updating.

Having worked with Creation Kit (CK) on player homes, It becomes apparent that the lights are very temperamental. Some of the light objects in the CK have vertices indicated by a set of magenta lines in the object. These tend to not play well with the other candle and fire lighting. Additionally, the area of illumination or effect cannot cross over another or they will cause the issue you were experiencing. The area the light is set to cover is adjusted in the CK by selecting the object and using S + left mouse button.

If the author modified these lighting areas, as they indicated they have altered the colors, it can cause issues.

I really wouldn't have think of this one, since it was something that shouldve fixed it instead of causing it (in my head at least)

now I can finally enjoy another ride in Skyrim
