After reviewing the Mod page Posts, the potential causes are:
1) You have another pet that is causing conflict. Make sure to dismiss all and try again.
2)f you have anything that is overwriting "PetFramework_PetQuest.pex." the mod may not work.
If there is another mod that is overwriting the mod, and you have Vortex, do the following:
In the Mods section, the far right of the mod viewing window you will find the button called "Remove." Next to the button is a drop-down menu. One of the selections is called "manage file conflicts." If the selection is grayed-out, there is no other mod at issue.
If you are able to select it, a menu box will appear. Navigate down the list until you locate the file referenced above. On the right is a green drop-menu. Make sure the mod listed is the 'Collision Patch.' If not, change it to the patch, save, and deploy.
There is a chance that this will not correct the issue on your main save. You may need to create a test character to confirm.
One post indicates that, after telling the pet to 'stay' then 'follow' followed by a save and reload, it worked for them.
Several of the posts indicate that some pets will still cause collisions even after the mod is installed.
