How do I know if the unofficial patch is working?
All info on internet is outdated, i have a fresh install, old stuff like "try refining a pickaxe/axe" or "smelting dwarven scrap metal" and nothing of that works, even tried doing it on a new save

I do not use MO2, but Vortex. Someone who uses MO2 will have to help you out. Is this your first time using a mod manager?

No, it's not. I use MO2 for fallout 4 and NV too and they work just fine, am I missing something like I'm supposed to rollback skyrim updates or something?

No, if the patch is installed and activated, it will work. Try visiting the Temple of Kynareth in Whiterun, and see if there's a "remove unwanted visual effects" shrine on the right.

I can't find that

Sounds like the Unofficial Patch is indeed not working for you.

Check your mod manager configuration. No idea if MO2 uses profiles or where to enter directories for the game, but these are the things you want to check.

You also need to have all DLCs and the latest game version (1.6.1130+) for the Unofficial Patch to work.

There should be a book in your inventory for removing magic effects (the shrine was replaced with a book in the player's inventory) - USSEP Unwanted Effects Remover.

Yes I do own everything plus the anniversary CC stuff, MO2 is working well, I'm also using the achievement mod enabler and it works too, MO2 does use profiles and virtual directories, it's all working fine and dandy

Don't have that either

Like I said, am I not supposed to be using anniversary stuff like the CC stuff or downgrade my game version or something?

If you have the newest game version, and the latest unofficial patch version, then it will work, there's no reason to downgrade anything. Make a screenshot of MO2 and post it here.

When you say you have a fresh install, did you make sure you have removed all previous stuff properly? This includes everything in the Steam folder of the game, the stuff in the game's AppData folder, and also the .ini files. There are guides for how to do a full reinstall, too.

And do not forget to verify your game files after a a new install!

It literally has nothing wrong with MO2 unless it's technical stuff, because like I said, I use F4 unofficial and it works, NV's mods are working dandy and it's just skyrim that's giving me the middle finger

I'll try a fresh install, the only things I haven't cleaned are appdata folders

Cleaning that shouldn't be necessary. Just make a screenshot of your MO2 and post it here. Also, check the override folder.
