You can, however, use OAR, the successor to DAR, which will let you set animations for the player only, though you'll have to do this manually via OAR's in-game menu.
When you start the game, OAR will automatically detect installed animations and load the default characteristics. The OAR in-game editor is opened by pressing Shift + O. You will only need to open this menu to make your own adjustments, if needed.
EDIT: I will add that you may not need to make any adjustments as the default settings may be exactly what you are looking for. If you do feel that you need to adjust the animations, take a look at the OAR Nexus page and read through the description carefully. The author describes the general steps on making adjustments.
