Question about flame spells
The description says targets on fire take more damage but what is included in that? If i use flames to burn a target then punch them will the damage of the punches go up?

No, they just do extra damage over a couple of seconds. So don't just hold down the Flames spell, do it in bursts so you get some of that extra burn damage.

yeah i noticed the speed of punching is a lot slower if you hold the flames spell I was just referring to hitting it in bursts just to get flames on then punch. I mean it seems like both hands do the same thing punching wise so I was looking for something to do with the other hand

either a shield to block, or some spell i guess maybe illusion or conjuration. I dont want restoration because i heal with potions.

you should be dual wielding the flame

Flame spells add a DoT to the target (that gets overwritten with a new application of fire spell damge so it do not stack). So you do not do more damage with fire+punches but rather the target takes extra damage for a while after you finish using spells on it.

Ok, so... dual wield (eventually dual cast) Flames? Equip 2 different spells? Put a shield on and be a Shield Mage? Just use a weapon in one hand too? There are a lot of options, I dunno why you feel like you have to punch for some reason.

Nothing wrong with wanting to punch even better if you wanta scratch (kitty) add some special gloves and it will extra the bruise on top of the fire :summer2019boost: your just a sadist and that is alright.

i think you kinda missed the point of a rpgs and this topic tbh

Here ill give you one though...punching is far stronger than any weapon. Im level 30 and no weapon beats my fists lol. I was just curious if i punched a target that was on fire...theyd take more damage from the punches. If this is not the case i will just use a shield instead becausr at least you get some cool perks like damage reduction from spells, no damage from arrows, and slow time.

If there was some benefit to dual fists id do it but there doesnt seem to be. Also...the dual wield perks in one handed some say they affect fists and some say they dont. I would assume you need weapons in each hand to recieve the benefit of those perks so thats why i havent put points there.

i was just curious if i punched a target on fire they would take more damage thats all. Poster above claims they wouldnt so i guess no need to use flames then punch

Think of a flame spell as shooting napalm. That's why targets on fire take extra damage and they look like they're on fire. Punching them is additional damage as long as the flame effect remains.

ok so how long is a target burned for if i hit flames. how many punches can i get in before the burn effect wears off. it doesnt even say how much extra damage burned targets take either

Experiment. I find, if I get a long straight area, so I can back up whilst shooting my magic flame as the target attacks me - you can quickly judge what works. I've just discovered a Bow that has the same effect, targets on fire blah, 2-3 arrows, I tend to use Glass arrows, and the target goes down. I tend to use hand flames for spiders, cobwebs, bears, wolves.

off topic but one thing ive always wondered about this game is how sneaky archer types that go full stamina...deal with forced encounters where you cant sneak. Like for example the spriggans that spawn when you do the eldergleam thing. I know you can avoid them with the npc but there are other encounters like what im referring to. maybe they have conjuration or somerthing to spawn a pet than get the fk out of there lol. honestly ive rerolled an archer due to my saves corrupting because of mods. I might go full health archer now lol

Sneak is quite lets just say good at high level I mean there is enough jokes/memes on that.
(just run around a corner fast enough than sneak and they be like O they gone).
Also you can poison your arrows hell do paralize than you don't even have to run and not only that as they get up you can pickpocket them.
