WHY CANT I USE MY MOUSE AND KEYBOARD

I just bought the game and for what ever reason it’s defaulting to a controller when I don’t even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ own one. How the ♥♥♥♥ am I supposed to get to the settings and change it then.

It literally won’t let me use any keyboard and mouse inputs. This is one of the most annoying things I’ve ever encountered in gaming. I know you’re games aren’t great but I expect them to actually work Bethesda.

right-click on the game in your library, properties, controller, override... disable steam input.

Alright well I guess I have to restart my PC since the game disabled my main input devices. Can’t even close it with alt f4. Hopefully that works Death.

This didn’t work, I selected “disable steam input” in the drop box and launched the game. It won’t let me use my mouse and keyboard and keeps telling me to use a controller.

In the box that shows “Steam Input Status” everything is disabled except for Steam Controller and Remote Play. I can’t seem to disable those ones.

yeah those are global settings, you'll have to disable them for all of steam even if they're disable-able. They might not be, things have changed since we went to the all-Chromium client.

So manually edit your config... it'll be in c:\users\<your_acct>\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition... look in SkyrimPrefs.ini in the [Main] section for a bGamepadEnable entry, and change the 1 to a 0.

The issue is the game is thinking my Razer Tartarus Pro is a controller. Not sure if I can fix that but whatever I’ll just use my 60% keyboard.

Get your ♥♥♥♥ together Steam or Bethesda who ever the hells fault it is. My Tartarus works fine in every single other game, even NEW WORLD.

Razer products are great, love em, but Razer software on the other hand is total trash. Every game where a Razer user is having issues, it's 100% down to their stupid driver. Glad you got it working though!

hey no worries when stuff doesn't work, it's frustrating, we've all experienced it. especially dealing with older titles that came out years before our modern hardware and OSes existed.

I am having same issue no controller and keyboard mouse don't work i disabled controller from game properties still keyboard not working did you found any solution?
