anyone know if silverlock.org is going to fix the problem's with wrong .dll/newer version pop up.

Or has Bethesda totally screwed the use of any mod in there game from now on?

Every time I boot the game with the skse loader I get the .dll error or pop up telling me I have a newer version, and mod's may not work.

No, the game will start, but I have no Idea if mods will work.

PS: Normally I would have had steam on only update when I run program, but new system, new install. and I have gotten crapped on.

You need the 2.2.6 AE version for steam, and a separate 2.2.6 build for GOG.

Provided that you've installed it correctly, skse works fine.

That is what I have, and it borks on load like I said. Yes, quit, no, and load but mod's probably not working.

I have not even really installed any mods yet, but I figure why try, if there not going to work.
I mean I set up MO2 and got everything ready for modding.

I hat to try and go back to legendary, I thought SE was finally okay to play (figuring mod's have been fixed, update, and so on.), but this has me wondering.

Do you have any plugins which depend on SKSE, especially engine fixes? All of them need to be updated as well.

actually right now i really have not even installed any mods, just the bare bone installation.

Also, when you install skse the best practice is to first uninstall and delete any old skse files before reinstalling, or installing a different version. It doesn't happen very often, but we've seen cases of blown installations because old files weren't properly removed or weren't overwritten correctly and were still around causing problems.

yes i was thinking that I first installed the SE skse, before I realized Beth had forced the AE on me. so I just wiped the game folder, and all registry entry's, and re-installed the game.

then dropped the SKSE AE latest version in.

I'll see what that does.

Try a clean reinstall, as just validating the files or uninstalling and reinstalling the game is not enough - files can get left over and they will continue to effect your game. Follow this guide EXACTLY and do everything it says to the letter:

What is the name of the .DLL?
There is a good chance that you are confusing the warning:

your SKSE is actually working fine, but it is warning you that "???.dll" mod is not working.

Stop playing the victim here. There's no conspiracy. There's plenty of people using SKSE on the version you're using, and plenty of people willing to help you make it work.
