Thonar Bug(?)

Hi, I'm trying to finish the "No One Escapes Cidhna Mine" questline, but the issue is that when i leave the gate when Thonar gives you your stuff back, he just fights me. What do I do? Do I have to make a new save file? I can't go back and redo the entire quest, either, because my save files don't go back that far. Do I have to install a mod or something? Hate to say it but I'm stressing out a little cause this is my first playthrough ever and I got a LOT done.

If you are new to the game then rule #1 never use auto saves. Make hard saves early and often. I do not know how to fix that problem, but rule #1 will help with future problems. He never went at me and I had killed lots of Forsworn before doing the quest. Did you hit him or one of his men during the fights going out? Only thing I can think of.

I used a quick save before the little chamber with the Dwarven thing, I don't use auto saves. Also, the only one I killed was Madanach, I followed this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbdqRc3xF1I after killing him. Literally no idea why Thonar attacked me. Does it have to do with when the Nose guy or whatever his name is, and his goons that came out? They attacked me and I had to kill them all in self defense. If that's what caused this bug(if that's what it is) then I don't know what to do because I have no saves before entering the dungeon, so I can't redo the conspiracy quest.

ok update: I used console commands. I did not consider this beforehand since I just haven't used console commands, basically ever, before. I just reset his AI. It feels stupid how simple that was.
